Liza Sylvestre (born November 13, 1983) is an American visual artist. She grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Liza is known for her detailed abstract mixed media paintings and drawings.
Her newer art explores new media like installations and video art. Much of her work looks at how our senses, like hearing and seeing, help us understand the world. She often explores how our senses can sometimes mislead us.

About Liza's Life
Liza Sylvestre started losing her hearing when she was about six years old. It happened slowly over time. By the age of sixteen, it became much harder for her to hear.
In 2003, when she was 20, she had a cochlear implant placed in her ear. This surgery helped to improve her hearing. After finishing her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2006, she moved to Miami. She lived there for six years, working and showing her artwork.
Today, Liza lives in Illinois. She lives with her husband, Christopher Jones, who is also an artist and writer. They have two children together.
