Liza Sylvestre is an American visual artist known for her unique and thoughtful artwork. Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in 1983, she creates detailed abstract pieces using different materials. Her art often explores how we see and understand the world around us, especially through our senses. She also uses newer art forms like installations and video art.

About Liza Sylvestre
Early Life and Hearing Journey
Liza Sylvestre grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota. When she was about six years old, she started to lose her hearing. This loss happened slowly over time, becoming more noticeable when she was around sixteen. To help her hear better, she had a special device called a cochlear implant placed in her ear in 2003, when she was 20 years old.
Education and Family Life
Liza earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Art from the University of Minnesota in 2006. After graduating, she moved to Miami for six years. There, she worked and showed her artwork. Today, Liza lives in Illinois with her husband, Christopher Jones, who is also an artist and writer. They have two children.
