Louise Victoria Hazel (born on October 6, 1985) is a talented English track and field athlete. She is best known for competing in the heptathlon, which is a challenging event with seven different track and field activities. Louise has represented England and Great Britain in several big international competitions.

One of her greatest achievements was winning a gold medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. She achieved a personal best score of 6156 points in the heptathlon. Louise also competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics. After a successful career, she announced her retirement from the heptathlon in 2013.

Early Life and Education

Louise Hazel was born in Southwark, London. From a young age, she loved sports. Her father encouraged her to start training at a local athletics club when she was just 10 years old.

She attended Neale-Wade Community College in Cambridgeshire. Later, she studied at the University of Birmingham, where she earned a degree in French. While at university, she joined the well-known Birchfield Harriers Athletics Club. This club is famous for helping athletes develop their skills.

Athletic Career Highlights

Louise Hazel has competed in many important events. In 2006, she took part in the 2006 European Athletics Championships. Three years later, she competed in the 2009 World Championships in Athletics. She was ranked as the second-best heptathlete in the UK in 2009.

Her biggest win came at the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India. She won the gold medal in the heptathlon, showing amazing skill across all seven events. In 2011, she achieved another high score of 6166 points at a competition in Ratingen, Germany. She also proudly represented her country at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

In 2013, Louise decided to retire from the heptathlon. However, she briefly considered returning to defend her title at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. This was because another famous athlete, Jessica Ennis-Hill, was unable to compete. Sadly, Louise had to abandon her comeback plans due to a health issue that affected her training.

Beyond her athletic career, Louise Hazel has appeared on several television shows. In July 2012, before the Olympics, she was on the Channel 4 show Come Dine with Me with other athletes. She even won the show!

In 2015, she competed on the popular British game show The Chase. She also appeared in a celebrity Christmas special of Ninja Warrior UK.

Louise has also used her platform for charity. In 2017, she was on a special charity edition of MTV's The Challenge, called The Challenge: Champs vs. Pros. She competed to raise money for Save the Children, a charity that helps children around the world. She returned to The Challenge in 2018 for another spin-off called The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars.
