Miss Venezuela 2006
On September 14, 2006, Ly Jonaitis took part in the Miss Venezuela 2006 contest. This big event was held in Caracas, the capital city of Venezuela. Ly competed against 27 other young women from all over the country.
She won the title of Miss Venezuela 2006. This made her the eighth person from the state of Guárico to win the Miss Venezuela crown. The pageant first started way back in 1952.
Miss Universe 2007 Journey
After winning Miss Venezuela, Ly traveled to Mexico to represent her country. She competed in the Miss Universe 2007 pageant. This international competition took place in Mexico City on May 28, 2007.
Ly did very well in the Miss Universe contest. She finished as the 2nd Runner-Up. This means she was the third-place winner overall. The winner was Riyo Mori from Japan, and the 1st Runner-Up was Natália Guimarães from Brazil.
