Macarena Achaga Figueroa (born March 5, 1992), known as Macarena Achaga, is a talented model, actress, singer, and TV host from Argentina. She started her acting journey in 2012 in the Mexican TV show Miss XV. She was also part of the pop music group Eme 15 from 2011 to 2014. Many people know her for playing Valentina Carvajal in the TV series Love to Death.

Early Life and Beginnings
Macarena Achaga Figueroa was born in Mar del Plata, Argentina. Her parents are architects. She is the oldest child in her family and has a younger brother named Santiago.
When she was 15, Macarena started her career as a model. She would travel many hours by bus each week from Mar del Plata to Buenos Aires for her modeling jobs. She first signed with Pink Model Management and later with Multitalent Agency in Buenos Aires. At 18, she moved to Buenos Aires to focus even more on her modeling career.
Modeling Career Highlights
Macarena began modeling at age 15, working for print ads. She modeled for popular Argentine clothing brands like Sweet Victorians and Doll Fins. She also appeared in magazines such as ParaTeens and Cosmopolitan Argentina.
In 2010, she was in a commercial for Marinela cookies. She also did some modeling work in Mexico and France when she was 18. Later, in 2012, she was part of a print campaign for CLOĒ handbags in Mexico. She also appeared in InStyle Mexico magazine.
In 2013, Macarena was in a health awareness ad campaign for Tommy Hilfiger handbags in Mexico. She also promoted Nescafé Dolce Cafe in a web series. In 2014, she was featured on the cover of Hola magazine's special "Novias" edition, modeling wedding dresses.
In 2015, Macarena and actor Gonzalo Garcia Vivanco were in an autumn ad campaign for Banana Republic in Mexico.
Television Acting Journey
Starting Out in TV
Macarena's first TV job was co-hosting Los 10+ Pedidos, an MTV Latin America music show in Argentina, in 2010. She left the show in 2011 after being chosen for the TV series Miss XV.
From 2011 to 2013
In 2011, Macarena was in Mexico City for a workshop when a producer, Pedro Damián, saw her. He invited her to try out for Miss XV, a new musical TV series for teens. Macarena was chosen to play the character "Leonora Martínez." She was the only Argentine actor in the cast.
Filming for Miss XV meant Macarena had to move to Mexico City. The show aired in 2012 on Nickelodeon Latin America and Canal 5. Even though it was popular, the show did not have a second season.
In 2013, Macarena was cast as "Jenny Parra" in Gossip Girl: Acapulco. This was a Mexican version of the American show Gossip Girl. To play a Mexican character, Macarena took speech lessons to change her Argentine accent. Filming took place in Acapulco, Mexico. The show premiered in August 2013. However, it was canceled in January 2014.
In July 2013, Macarena also filmed a short movie called El Librito Rojo in Guanajuato, Mexico.
From 2014 to 2015
In 2014, Macarena filmed Páginas Negras, a horror TV series in Buenos Aires. She also acted in the Peruvian drama film Magallanes, which was shown internationally.
In March 2014, Macarena went to Pucón, Chile for a new historical drama series called Sitiados. This show was about a true story from 1598 to 1601 in Chile. Filming ended in July 2014. The series premiered in May 2015 on FOXPlay+ and Fox Latin America.
From late 2014 to early 2015, she filmed the third season of the musical drama Cumbia Ninja in Bogotá, Colombia. The final season of Cumbia Ninja aired in October 2015. In October 2015, Macarena also began filming the TV drama El regreso de Lucas in Lima, Peru. This show premiered in November 2016.
From 2016 to Today
In 2016, Macarena returned to Mexico City and started filming La piloto. This show aired in 2017 on Univision in the US.
In 2017, Macarena was cast in La bella y las bestias. Filming took place in Mexico City.
La piloto was renewed for a second season, and filming began in 2018. Macarena had a knee injury and left the show. Another actress, Oka Giner, took over her role.
In November 2018, she began playing Valentina Carvajal in Amar a muerte. This role became very popular. In 2019, it was announced that a spin-off series and a film would be made based on the characters.
Music Career with Eme 15
Eme 15 Group
In the summer of 2011, Macarena tried out for Miss XV in Mexico City. The producers decided to add a third female member to the cast, and Macarena was chosen. As part of the cast, Macarena also joined the pop music group Eme 15. She was the sixth and final member of the band. The other members were Paulina Goto, Elezar Gómez, Natasha Dupeyrón, Yago Muñoz, and Jack Duarte.
The band released their first music video, "Wonderland," on April 4, 2012. The video was filmed in a garden called Las Pozas in Mexico. "Wonderland" was released for digital download in April 2012. The band performed their last concert on January 5, 2014, in Acapulco, Mexico, and then separated.
Personal Life
After being cast in Miss XV in 2011, Macarena moved to Mexico City, where she lives today. In March 2013, she became a vegetarian.
Her relationship with Mexican actor Sebastian Zurita was confirmed in February 2014, but they separated at the end of that year. In 2021, she confirmed a romantic relationship with Juanpa Zurita, whom she met while filming Luis Miguel: La Serie 2.
