Paulina Gómez Torres (born 29 July 1991), known as Paulina Goto, is a talented Mexican singer and actress. She first became famous in 2010 for her role in the Mexican TV show Niña de mi Corazón. From 2011 to 2014, she was part of the popular pop group Eme 15. Paulina is also well-known for her roles in TV series like Mi corazón es tuyo (2014-2015), Un camino hacia el destino (2016), El vuelo de la Victoria (2017), and Daughter From Another Mother (2021).
In August 2024, Paulina Goto announced that she would be focusing on her singing career. She decided to stop acting to dedicate more time to her music.

Early life and childhood
Paulina Goto was born in Monterrey, Mexico. She has a younger brother named Eduardo. Her mother and grandmother are both psychologists. Paulina's father was a singer and musician who often wrote songs with her. He passed away in September 2020.
When Paulina was five years old, her family moved to Tampico, Tamaulipas. She grew up there, taking dance and ballet lessons from a young age. She also trained as a rhythmic gymnast from age five to fourteen. Paulina was a state and national champion in gymnastics. She even represented Mexico in international competitions. In 2000, she competed in her first national junior Olympics in Guadalajara.
Paulina went to Escuela Americana de Tampico, a private bilingual school. She sang in the school choir. Later, she studied online after moving to Mexico City when she was 17.
Acting career highlights
Starting out in television (2008–2011)
Paulina Goto began her TV journey in 2008. She was a co-host on a youth news show called Roomies in Tampico. After a year, she left the show. While on Roomies, she auditioned for Centro de Educación Artística (CEA). This is a drama school run by Televisa in Mexico City.
One month after her audition, Paulina was accepted into CEA. She moved to Mexico City and lived with relatives. She studied voice, acting, and dance. When she was 18, she auditioned for a new TV show by director Pedro Damián. He is famous for creating the group RBD. Even without much acting experience, Paulina was chosen for the main role in Niña de mi Corazón. This show was a new version of an older TV series. Paulina played two roles: Andrea Paz and her imaginary twin brother, Andres Paz. After getting this role, she stopped her studies at CEA to act full-time.
Filming for Niña de mi Corazón started in January 2010 in Mexico City. The show first aired on 8 March 2010 in Mexico. It later premiered in the U.S. in February 2011. In 2011, Paulina also made her theater debut. She played the main female role in the play El Knack.
Big success with Miss XV and other shows (2011–2015)
In June 2011, Paulina Goto auditioned for Televisa's teen musical TV series, Miss XV. She was confirmed as a lead actress for the show.
Miss XV was inspired by the popular 1987 TV show, Quinceañera. Filming for Miss XV took place in Mexico City from October 2011 to June 2012. The show premiered in Latin America in April 2012 on Nickelodeon. It also aired on Canal 5 and later on Galavisión in the U.S. The show was very successful, but a second season was cancelled.
In July 2013, Paulina auditioned for Vaselina. This was the Spanish version of the musical Grease in Mexico City. She was chosen to play "Sandy" in the 13th Mexican stage production of Vaselina. Rehearsals were held from August to October in Mexico City. Paulina starred with her former Eme 15 bandmates, Eleazar Gomez and Jack Duarte. The play opened on 17 October 2013. It ran for 10 weeks and then had two more seasons. Paulina performed in over 100 shows.
On 13 February 2014, Paulina auditioned for the TV show Mi Corazón Es Tuyo. This show was based on a Spanish TV series. She auditioned for the role of "Fanny Lascurain". On 16 February 2014, her role was confirmed. Filming began in April 2014 in Mexico City. The show started airing in Mexico on 30 June 2014. It premiered in the United States on 21 July 2014 on Univision. The final episode aired in Mexico on 1 March 2015.
Because Mi Corazón Es Tuyo was so popular, a stage version was created. Paulina played "Fanny" again. The play debuted in Puebla in March 2015. It toured various cities in Mexico, ending in May 2015.
In November 2015, Paulina was confirmed to star in "Un camino hacia el destino". This TV show was based on the 2003 Mexican telenovela, La Hija del Jardinero. She had to take violin lessons for her role. Filming began on 23 November 2015. The show premiered in Mexico in January 2016 and in the U.S. in February 2016. Paulina also sang the show's theme song, Mi camino eres tú.
From 2016 to 2019
In late 2016, Paulina Goto was cast in the film "La Leyenda Del Diamante". Filming took place in November and December 2016. The movie later premiered on Netflix in 2019. In February 2017, Paulina was announced as the lead for the new TV show "El vuelo de la victoria". She played a runner training for the Olympics. Filming began in May 2017 in Mexico City. The show premiered in Mexico in July 2017.
In January 2018, Paulina went on a national tour in Mexico. She was part of the play "Dios mío hazme viuda por favor". This comedy-drama tells the stories of five women's marriage problems. The play ran until February 2018.
In July 2019, Paulina announced her return to TV for a lead role in the Mexican drama "Vencer en silencio". Filming started in Mexico City in July. The show was set to premiere in Mexico in January 2020.
Paulina also got her first main film role in the Mexican comedy-drama 'Veinteañera, divorciada y fantástica’. Filming was in November 2018 in Mexico City. The movie was released in March 2020 in Mexico. In November 2019, she was also announced as part of the cast for the Mexican film 'Dioas al Asfarto'.
Other TV projects
From April to June 2015, Paulina Goto was a co-judge on the talent show "Estrellas del Futuro". This segment was part of Sábado Gigante on Univision. On 30 June 2015, she co-hosted the "Barbie Awards". This show honored young women in different fields.
Paulina was also a coach on "Pequeños Gigantes USA". This is the U.S. version of a Mexican talent show for kids. In January 2017, she moved to Miami to film the show. It premiered on Univision in February 2017.
Retirement from acting (2024)
In August 2024, Paulina Goto shared that she had decided to stop acting. She wanted to focus on her singing career and her upcoming second album. She explained that acting was a full-time job. It left her little time for her music dreams. During her acting career, she starred in eight TV shows for Televisa. She also appeared in films and a Netflix series. This made her one of Mexico's most popular young actresses. Her last acting role in Mexico was in the film Entra mi vida, released on 18 July 2024.
Music career journey
First album: Paulina Goto (2010–2011)
After the success of Niña de mi Corazón, Paulina Goto signed a contract with Sony Music Mexico in 2010. She wanted to release her own album as a solo artist. Many songs on the album were written by Carlos Lara. Before the album came out, two songs, Mio and A Pesar del Tiempo, were used on Niña de mi Corazón.
On 7 June 2010, her first single, Mio, was released. It was available digitally and in stores across Mexico. The song was played a lot on the radio. The music video was filmed in May 2010. Paulina released her first album, Paulina Goto, on 22 June 2010.
In its first week, the album reached number 7 on Mexico's iTunes charts. It debuted at number 66 on the Mexican Top 100 Album Charts. It peaked at number 43 on AMPROFON. To promote her CD, Paulina performed at radio shows and festivals. At the end of 2010, she sang on the song La Vida es un cuento de hadas real for the film Barbie, Barbie Moda Mágica en Paris.
Singing with Eme 15
After getting the lead role in Miss XV, Paulina Goto joined Eme 15. This was the fictional pop band from the show. She was the lead singer. The other five members were also actors on the show. The band released their first music video, Wonderland, on 4 April 2012. The video was filmed in October 2011. Wonderland was released for digital download in Mexico in April 2012.
The band's first album, Eme 15, was released on 26 June 2012. It debuted at number 2 on the Mexican Top 100 Album Charts. It reached number one in Mexico in July 2012. Their album was certified gold in Argentina and platinum in Mexico.
On 18 December 2013, it was announced that the band would break up. Their final concert was on 5 January 2014 in Acapulco, Mexico.
Solo music and new projects (2013 to present)
In April 2013, Paulina performed songs from her first album and new material at a solo concert. In July 2014, she confirmed she was writing songs for her next album. She said it would mix electro-pop and acoustic styles. In June 2014, she recorded "Llévame Despacio". This song was used in her TV show Mi corazón es tuyo. She released a lyric video for it in July 2014.
In November 2014, Paulina confirmed she was writing songs with famous songwriters. In February 2015, "Llévame Despacio" was released as a digital single. In July 2015, Paulina announced "Mi corazón es un país" would be the first single from her upcoming album. However, her planned second album was put on hold.
In 2015, Paulina sang the main song for another Barbie movie, "Barbie Campamento Pop". In October 2015, she filmed the music video for Mi corazón es un país. The song was released in November 2015. In May 2016, Paulina said her new album would have 6 or 7 songs in English and Spanish.
On 4 August 2017, Paulina released the single "Creo en tu amor". This song was recorded in late 2015. A lyric music video was released in August 2017. In 2018, Paulina released a new single, 'Tú sigue'. In February 2019, she released "#Quién?". In November 2019, she released 'Hasta la vista'. This song was expected for her upcoming second album.
In 2019, Paulina recorded a live EP at Abbey Road Studios in London. The EP was released worldwide on 17 July 2020. It included two new songs she wrote and a cover of The Beatles' song, Here Comes the Sun. This was her first new studio project in almost ten years.
In August 2024, Paulina Goto announced her new single, "De viaje". It was the lead single from her second studio album. The single and its music video were released on 9 August 2024. Paulina also contributed to the soundtrack for the 2024 film Entra en mi vida. She said her new solo music would feature female musicians and songwriters.
In January 2025, Paulina announced her live album, Natural. A concert film of the same name was also released. The live album was released digitally on 24 January 2025. The concert film was shown in Mexico from 23 January to 29 January 2025. A tour is planned to start in Mexico City in April 2025. The album will include new songs, songs from Eme 15, and songs from her first solo album. Her friend and former Miss XV co-star, Natasha Dupeyrón, attended the concert film's premiere.
Spokesmodel career
On 5 February 2014, Paulina Goto became the new face of Tampico Miramar. This was a campaign to attract more tourists to her home state, Tamaulipas. Paulina appeared in ads and a video for the campaign. In November 2014, she modeled clothes for the "Mundo Terra" fashion catalog. She appeared in their catalogs in 2015 and 2016.
In January 2018, Paulina was chosen to design her own lipstick. This was a collaboration with the makeup brand MAC Cosmetics. Her lipstick was released as a limited edition item. Paulina is the first Mexican actress to work with MAC Cosmetics on a lipstick.
Personal life
Paulina Goto lives in Mexico City, where she has lived since she was 17. She speaks both English and Spanish. In June 2016, she shared that she was dating Argentine actor Horacio Pancheri. They had worked together on the TV show Un camino hacia el destino. Their relationship ended in early 2018.
On 28 February 2023, Paulina married her partner, Rodrigo Saval, in Mexico City. They had met as teenagers and reconnected later at a friend's wedding. They started dating in April 2019 and got engaged in September 2022. Rodrigo Saval works in public administration and is not in the entertainment industry. They had a second wedding ceremony on 14 October 2023 in Mexico City.
Paulina plays the piano and guitar. She has a dog named Mila, a Pomeranian mix. Paulina has spoken out against gender-based violence in Mexico.
