Mangrio facts for kids
The Mangrio (pronounced Man-gree-oh) are a group of people, also known as a tribe, who are part of the Rajput community. They are Muslims and live mainly in the Sindh region of Pakistan and in Rajasthan, India. The Mangrio people are considered Suryavanshi Rajputs, which means they believe they are descendants of the Sun God. They are also known as the royal family of Jaisalmer, a city in India.
Where Mangrio People Live
Mangrio people live in many different places.
In Sindh, Pakistan, you can find them in areas like Shikarpur, Hyderabad, Tharparkar, Sanghar, Umerkot, Mirpur Khas, Sukkur, Larkana, Raipur, Kandiaro , Karachi , and Khairpur.
In the Punjab region of Pakistan, many Mangrio live in Rahimyar, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, and Muzaffar Garh. Some Mangrio people also live in Balochistan, another part of Pakistan.
In India, the Mangrio are mostly found in the districts of Jaisalmer, Barmer, and Bikaner.
Famous Mangrio People
One important Mangrio person was Hazrat Abdul Raheem Girhori. He was a very wise scholar and a respected holy person (sometimes called a Walee) during his time. His burial place, known as a tomb, is located near the city of Mirpur Khas.
