Marc Wallace Jordan, born on March 6, 1948, is a talented Canadian singer, songwriter, and actor. He was born in America but grew up in Canada. Marc Jordan has written many songs for famous singers like Diana Ross, Rod Stewart, Cher, and Josh Groban.
In 1994, he won a Juno Award for being a top producer. This was for his song "Waiting for a Miracle." In 2014, he became the head of the Slaight Family Music Lab at the Canadian Film Centre. In October 2023, Marc Jordan and his friend John Capek were added to the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.

About Marc Jordan
Marc Jordan was born in Brooklyn, New York. His father, Charles Jordan, was also a singer. Marc grew up in Toronto, Canada, where his family moved. He first studied film at Brock University. However, he soon decided to focus on music. He started his music career as a guitarist for Bobby Vee.
Early Music Career
In 1974, Marc Jordan released some songs with CBS Records in Canada. These songs included "It's a Fine Line" and "New York Kids." Even though these songs were not huge hits, they caught the attention of American music producer Gary Katz. This led to Marc signing a deal with Warner Bros. Records in the U.S. in 1977.
During his time with Warner Bros., he released the Canadian hit songs "Marina del Rey" and "Survival." These songs were from his album Mannequin. In 1979, he released another album called Blue Desert. Many people consider this album a classic example of the "West Coast Sound" from that time.
Music in the 1980s and 1990s
In the 1980s, Marc Jordan signed with RCA. He released two albums with them: Talking Through Pictures and C.O.W.. In 1988, he sang and helped write the theme song for the Australian movie Boulevard of Broken Dreams. This song was nominated for an award. In 1989, he was nominated for a Genie Award for "Best Original Song" for "Shadow Dance." He wrote this song with Jay Gruska for the film Shadow Dancing.
In 1994, Marc Jordan won a Juno Award for "Producer of the Year." He shared this award with Steven MacKinnon for their work on "Waiting for a Miracle" from his album Reckless Valentine. After releasing other albums on his own, he signed with Blue Note/EMI Canada in 1999. He then released two more jazz-style albums, This Is How Men Cry and Make Believe Ballroom.
Recent Work and Family
In 2014, the Canadian Film Centre chose Marc Jordan to be the Musical Director of its Slaight Family Music Lab.
In 2016, Marc Jordan performed with other singers like Murray McLauchlan and Ian Thomas in a group called Lunch At Allen's. They toured different towns in Ontario, Canada.
Marc Jordan is married to fellow singer-songwriter Amy Sky. They live in Toronto and have two children, Ezra and Zoe. Both Marc and Amy are UNICEF Goodwill Ambassadors for Canada. This means they help raise awareness and support for children around the world.
Marc Jordan also started acting. His first movie was Score: A Hockey Musical in 2010. In the movie, he played Edgar Gordon, a peaceful father whose son is a talented hockey player.
Marc Jordan's most recent album, Waiting for the Sun to Rise, came out on April 21, 2023. This was his first album of new songs since On a Perfect Day in 2013.
This is How Men Cry Album
The album This is How Men Cry was first released in Canada on October 25, 1999. It includes six songs written by Marc Jordan himself. Some of these songs are "This Is How Men Cry," "Charlie Parker Loves Me," and "London in the Rain." The album also features three cover songs: Willie Nelson's "Crazy," Elvis Costello's "Almost Blue," and Manny Curtis' "Let It Be Me." The main song, "This is How Men Cry," is a poem about how men express their feelings.
Personal Life
Marc Jordan is married to Amy Sky. They have a son named Ezra and a daughter named Zoe. Marc Jordan is Jewish, and his father was a cantor, which is a leader of prayer in a synagogue.
Marc Jordan is also a member of a Canadian charity called Artists Against Racism.
