Marcus Dwayne Dixon (born September 16, 1984) is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the defensive line coach for the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League (NFL). During his playing days, he was a defensive end.
Dixon played college football for the Hampton Pirates. He later joined the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2008. He also played for the New York Jets.

Early Life and College
Marcus Dixon was a talented student and football player in high school. He was offered a full scholarship to play at Vanderbilt University.
Due to a serious legal issue during his youth, he was unable to attend Vanderbilt. After this difficult period, Dixon accepted a football scholarship from Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia.
Professional Playing Career
Dixon's journey in professional football took him to several teams in both the NFL and the Canadian Football League (CFL).
Dallas Cowboys
Dixon first signed with the Dallas Cowboys in 2008. He was released by the team on September 4, 2010.
New York Jets
The very next day, on September 5, 2010, the New York Jets claimed Dixon. He signed a one-year contract with the team in 2011. He played in three games during the 2012 season before being released.
Other Teams
After his time with the Jets, Dixon had short stays with a few other teams.
- Kansas City Chiefs: Dixon signed with the Chiefs in February 2013 but was released before the season began.
- Tennessee Titans: He signed a contract with the Titans in January 2014 but was released in August.
- BC Lions: In October 2014, Dixon joined the BC Lions in the CFL. He played in one game and retired from playing football on April 30, 2015.
Coaching Career
After his playing career ended, Dixon became a coach, sharing his knowledge of the game with new players.
Hampton University
Dixon returned to his old school, Hampton University, to begin his coaching career. From 2017 to 2020, he held several roles, including defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator.
Los Angeles Rams
On February 23, 2021, the Los Angeles Rams hired Dixon as their assistant defensive line coach. That season, Dixon won a Super Bowl championship when the Rams beat the Cincinnati Bengals.
Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos hired Dixon as their defensive line coach on February 18, 2022. He coached with the team for two seasons.
Minnesota Vikings
In 2024, Dixon joined the Minnesota Vikings as their defensive line coach, which is his current position.
