María José Martínez Sánchez, born on August 12, 1982, is a Spanish tennis player who used to play professionally. She played with her left hand and used a two-handed backhand. She won five big singles titles in her career. Her biggest win was at the 2010 Italian Open. There, she beat two former world number one players, Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Janković.
