Tashbiha Binte Shahid Mila, known to many as Mila Islam, is a talented Bangladeshi singer. She mixes folk music with pop and rock styles. Mila began her music journey in 2006 with her first album, "Fele Asha".

Early Life and Music Start
Mila grew up in a family with a special mix of backgrounds. Her father, Shahed Islam, was an officer in the Bangladesh Army. Her mother, Swapna Islam, was a singer of Nazrul Sangeet, a type of music.
Mila started learning music very early, at just three years old. Her mother was her first teacher. As she got older, she took lessons from different classical music masters. After finishing high school, Mila decided to make music her career.
Music Career Highlights
Even though Mila trained in classical music, she chose to sing Western pop, rock, and hip-hop. These styles became her main focus from the start of her career.
First Albums and Popular Songs
Mila's big break came with her first solo album, "Fele Asha", released in 2006. Many different composers helped create the songs on this album.
Her second album, Chapter 2, came out in 2007. It featured popular songs like "Rupbane Nachey Kamor Dolaiya" and "Baburam Shapura". These songs were composed by Fuad, a well-known music producer.
In 2009, Mila released her third album, Re-defined. Fuad also composed the songs for this album. It included hits such as "Dola De Re" and "Tumi Ki Shara Dibe."
After 2011, Mila continued to release new music. Some of her later songs include "Nacho" (2015), "Ishshor Jane" (2016), "Aissalla" (2020), and "Tona Tuni" (2024).
Singing for Movies
Besides her own songs, Mila has also sung for movies in Bangladesh. This is called playback singing, where a singer records a song that actors then lip-sync to in a film. Her voice has been part of many movie soundtracks. After taking a break from movie singing, Mila returned in 2025. She sang a song called "Prem Pukure Borshi Fele Anbore Dhore" for the Bangladeshi film Insaaf.
Live Performances Around the World
Mila has performed at many exciting live music events.
- On November 19, 2008, she performed at the Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Center. This event, called Fuad Live, showcased songs composed by Fuad.
- Mila also performed at the 2011 Cricket World Cup opening ceremony. She sang the official welcome song, "O Prithibi Ebar Ese Bangladesh Nao Chine". She shared the stage with other artists like Ibrar Tipu, Arnob, Balam, Kona, and Elita Karim. The 2011 Cricket World Cup was held in Bangladesh, India, and Sri Lanka.
Mila has traveled to many countries to perform her music. She has sung in places like India, Japan, Dubai, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, England, France, Germany, Australia, America, and Canada.
