The name Milford comes from a local farm. This farm was named by Andrew Mahaffey around 1877.

Milford Church History

A Primitive Methodist church opened in Milford on December 10, 1889. Later, in 1977, it became the Milford Uniting Church. This happened when the Methodist Church joined with other churches. The church building was sold in 2000. It was first used as a weekender (a place for weekend stays). Then, in 2007, it became a bed-and-breakfast for visitors. You can find it at 438 Milford Road.

Milford School History

Milford Provisional School first opened its doors on April 12, 1886. It became the new Milford State School on July 6, 1900. Mr. J. Haygarth from Boonah officially opened it. The school closed down on December 14, 1984. The old school building is at 382 Milford Road. Today, it is used as a private home.
