History of Milner
The community of Milner was started in 1912. It was named after Willis R. Milner, who was an important person in the early days of the area.

Milner is located in the northwestern part of Lamar County. You can find it at these coordinates: 33°6′47″N 84°11′42″W / 33.11306°N 84.19500°W.
How to Get There
U.S. Route 41 goes through the southwest side of Milner. This road leads about 5 miles (8 km) southeast to Barnesville, which is the main town in Lamar County. It also goes about 11 miles (18 km) northwest to Griffin.
Land and Water
The city covers about 2.1 square miles (5.4 square kilometers) of land. There is very little water area. Milner sits on the Eastern Continental Divide. This means that rain falling on the east side of the city flows towards the Atlantic Ocean. Water on the west side flows towards the Gulf of Mexico.
