Minster is a small village located in the state of Ohio, USA. It is found in both Auglaize and Shelby counties. In 2020, about 3,046 people called Minster home. It is also part of the larger Wapakoneta area. The village is right next to another village called New Bremen.
Minster is famous for being home to the world's largest yogurt factory. This factory is run by Dannon and provides jobs for over 400 people. The Minster Machine Company, which makes large industrial machines, also has its main office here.

History of Minster Village
Minster was first started in 1832. It was originally named Stallostown after its founder, Francis Stallo. In 1836, the name was changed to Minster. This new name came from the Münster region in Germany. Many of the first settlers in Minster came from this area.
Minster was first part of Mercer County. However, it became part of Auglaize County when that county was created in 1848. Most of the early settlers were German farmers. They traveled from Cincinnati using the Miami-Erie Canal. They brought their farming skills and their Catholic faith with them.
German Heritage and Street Names
Many of the roads in Minster were first named after places in Germany. For example, Webster Street was once called Berlin Street, after Berlin, Germany. Hamilton Street was known as Vienna Street, named after Vienna, Austria. Jefferson Street was called Oldenburg Street, after Oldenburg, Germany.
Today, Minster celebrates its strong German roots every year. They hold a special event called Oktoberfest.

Minster is a land-locked village. This means it does not have any large bodies of water within its borders. According to official measurements, the village covers a total area of about 1.93 square miles (5.0 square kilometers). All of this area is land.

Minster has grown steadily over the years. In 1850, there were 428 people living here. By 2020, the population had grown to 3,046 people.

The average age of people in Minster was 39.9 years. About 28.9% of residents were under 18 years old. About 16.9% were 65 years or older. The population was almost evenly split between males (49.7%) and females (50.3%).

The St. Augustine's Church is a very important building in Minster. It is a well-known landmark in the community.
Another important religious site is nearby in Maria Stein. This is the historic Roman Catholic Convent of the Sisters of the Precious Blood. It also has a Spiritual Center and the Shrine of the Holy Relics. A Catholic radio station, WHJM, which is part of the Radio Maria USA network, also has a local studio in Minster.
