The Mohegan Sun Arena is a large sports and entertainment center. It has 10,000 seats and is located in Uncasville, Connecticut. This arena is part of the Mohegan Sun casino resort.
It has a huge open space, about 30,000 square feet, for different events. The arena opened in October 2001. It is the home court for the Connecticut Sun, a professional women's basketball team.

Exciting Events at Mohegan Sun Arena
This arena has hosted many different kinds of events. You can see everything from dog shows to big concerts here. It has also been home to exciting sports like bull riding and college games.
Famous TV channels like CBS and ESPN have filmed events at the arena. In 2016, a huge car auction called Barrett-Jackson took place here. About 90,000 tickets were sold for that multi-day event!
Arena Football Fun
The Mohegan Sun Arena was once home to an arena football team. They were called the Mohegan Wolves. The team started playing in 2002.
A contest was held to name the team. A local resident won by suggesting "Mohegan Wolves." The team later moved to a new city in 2004.
Basketball Action
Since 2003, the arena has been the official home of the Connecticut Sun. This is a professional women's basketball team. The team plays its home games right here.
In 2005, a special store for Connecticut Sun fans opened. It was the first store of its kind inside a casino. It sold basketball gear for fans.
During the 2020 WNBA season, the Connecticut Sun could not play here. This was because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The whole season was played in Florida. Later that year, the arena hosted college basketball games. These games were called "Bubbleville" and had no fans in attendance.
Lacrosse Games
The Mohegan Sun Arena has also hosted exciting lacrosse events. In 2002, it was the site of the National Lacrosse League All-Star Game. Players from the North Division won that game.
In 2014, a professional lacrosse team moved to the arena. They were renamed the New England Black Wolves. They played their first game in 2015. The Black Wolves later moved in 2021.

Mixed Martial Arts Fights
The arena has hosted many mixed martial arts (MMA) events. The first big MMA event was UFC 35 in 2002. It featured famous fighters like Jens Pulver and B.J. Penn.
Bellator MMA has also held many events here since 2009. These events bring top MMA fighters to the arena.
Professional Wrestling Shows
Fans of professional wrestling can also enjoy shows at the arena. It has hosted events from WWE and All Elite Wrestling. Popular shows like Raw and SmackDown have been filmed here.
