About Mount Majestic
Mount Majestic is found near the northern part of Zion Canyon. It rises an amazing 2,600 feet (790 meters) above the canyon floor and the Virgin River. This river helps carry away rainwater that runs off the mountain.
Majestic Mountain is very close to another mountain named Cathedral Mountain, with only a short distance between them. Other well-known mountains nearby include The Great White Throne, Observation Point, and Angels Landing. The name "Mount Majestic" was officially chosen in 1934 by the United States Board on Geographic Names.

The best times to visit Mount Majestic are during spring and fall. The area has a "cold semi-arid climate." This means that the coldest month usually has an average temperature below freezing (0 °C or 32 °F). Also, more than half of the yearly rain falls during spring and summer.
This desert climate does not get much rain, usually less than 10 inches (254 mm) each year. Snowfall is generally light during the winter months.
