Douglas Lawrence Osowski (born January 1, 1969), known professionally as Mr. Lawrence, is an American voice actor, animator, comedian, and writer. He is famous for his work on the Nicktoons shows Rocko's Modern Life and SpongeBob SquarePants. On SpongeBob, he voices characters like Sheldon J. Plankton, Larry the Lobster, and Fred. He has been doing these voices since the show started in 1999.

Mr. Lawrence's Early Life and Career

Mr. Lawrence grew up in East Brunswick, New Jersey. When he was in high school, he performed in live comedy shows during the summer. He later studied at The Kubert School for two years. After that, he decided to focus on his stand-up comedy career.

Starting in Animation

Mr. Lawrence began his animation journey at a company called Spümcø. He worked as a layout assistant on the second season of The Ren & Stimpy Show. Later, he joined the team for Rocko's Modern Life. On Rocko's Modern Life, he became a very important part of the crew. He voiced the character Filburt and also helped write and direct many episodes.

Working on SpongeBob SquarePants

After Rocko's Modern Life, Mr. Lawrence started working on SpongeBob SquarePants. He became a writer for the show and later a story editor. He also voices several well-known characters on SpongeBob:

Other Projects and Comedy

Mr. Lawrence has also lent his voice to other animated shows. He was the voice of Edward T. Platypus, Nurse Leslie, Dave, and Ping-Pong on Camp Lazlo. He also voiced Manant in The Aquabats! Super Show!. Besides voice acting, he worked as a producer for Johnny Talk and a writer for The Twisted Whiskers Show and Mighty Magiswords.

As a comedian, Mr. Lawrence performed in New Jersey and Los Angeles. People who have worked with him, like Jeff "Swampy" Marsh (co-creator of Phineas and Ferb), say he has a very unique sense of humor.
