Muolen is a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It is located in the canton of St. Gallen. Muolen is part of the St. Gallen Wahlkreis, which is like a voting district.

History of Muolen
Muolen was first mentioned in official records way back in 1155. At that time, its name was written as Mola.
Geography of Muolen
Muolen covers an area of about 10.3 square kilometers (about 4 square miles). Most of this land, around 85%, is used for farming. About 7.7% of the area is covered by forests. The remaining land is used for buildings and roads, or it's non-productive land like rivers.
Muolen is the northernmost town in the St. Gallen canton. It includes the main village of Muolen and several smaller villages called hamlets. Part of a special area called Hudelmoos is also in Muolen. This is the last high moorland (a type of wetland) in the Fürstenland region.
