Myriam Fares (Arabic: ميريام فارس) is a famous singer, performer, and songwriter from Lebanon. She is known in the Arab world as "The Queen of Stage." Myriam has been making music for over twenty years, starting in 2003.
Myriam began taking ballet dance classes when she was five years old. By age nine, her talent was clear when she won a prize for oriental dance on a Lebanese TV show called "Little Talents." At 15, Myriam joined the Lebanese National Higher Conservatory School. When she turned 20, she officially started her career in entertainment.
Myriam Fares also became an actress, first appearing in the TV series Itiham. Her album Aman became super popular on the streaming service Anghami. In 2021, Myriam starred in her own Netflix documentary film called Myriam Fares: The Journey. This made her the first artist from the Middle East and Arab world to have a documentary on Netflix. It even reached number 1 in many countries!
Her song "Goumi" from 2018 became a huge hit on TikTok. Myriam created a dance challenge for the song that got over 10 billion views! In 2022, she worked with global stars Nicki Minaj and Maluma on "Tukoh Taka." This song was an official anthem for the FIFA World Cup.

Myriam's Early Life and Career
Starting Her Journey (1983–2005)
Myriam Arbal Fares was born on May 3, 1983, in Kafar Shlal, a small village in Southern Lebanon. Her artistic journey began at age five when she started learning classical ballet. At nine, she showed her talents on the TV show Al Mawaheb Al Saghira. She won first prize in oriental dancing.
When she was fifteen, Fares joined the Lebanese National Conservatory. She spent four years learning how to sing traditional oriental music. At 16, Myriam won first place at the "Lebanese song publicity" festival. At 17, she appeared on the TV talent show Studio El Fann. She won the title of best singer in the South of Lebanon, Beirut, and Mount Lebanon.
Soon after, Myriam signed with Music Master Records. She released her first song, "Ana Wel Shog," as part of her first album, Myriam. The album was a big success. Many songs became popular, including "La Tes'alni," which was number one for two months. The song "Ghamarni" was very popular in Eastern Europe. It was even translated into languages like Russian, Ukrainian, and Chechen. After the album, Myriam started touring around the world. She also launched her first perfume line called "Ana wel Shog."
In 2005, Myriam released her second album, "Nadini Myriam." It had 10 songs. She made three music videos for songs from this album: "Nadini," "Haklik rahtak," and "Waheshny Eah." The video for "Haklik Rahtak" was filmed in Paris. The song "Nadini" was on the music charts for about two months. The music video for "Wa7ishni Eh" had a racing theme, with Myriam doing stunts. This song was translated into several languages, including Turkish and Iranian. She also launched her second perfume line, "Nadini."
Big Collaborations and Success (2007–2011)
Myriam has worked with many global brands. In 2007, she partnered with "Vodafone Egypt," a big phone company. She became the face of their company.
In 2008, Myriam released her first big Khaliji hit song, "Moukanoh Wein." Khaliji music comes from the Gulf area. Myriam mixed the traditional style of the Gulf with modern sounds. This new approach was very popular. The music video for "Moukanoh Wein" had amazing choreography. It was a huge success in the Arab world, especially in the Gulf. "Tukoh Taka" and the World Cup
In 2022, FIFA chose Myriam Fares to represent the Arab world at the official FIFA Fan Festival for the Qatar World Cup. She performed the song "Tukoh Taka" with global artists Nicki Minaj and Maluma.
Myriam helped a lot with the song. She helped arrange the music, wrote the Arabic parts, and created the dance moves for the music video. When "Tukoh Taka" was released, it quickly became a top song around the world. The song and its video used three languages: English, Spanish, and Arabic. In the Arabic part, Myriam wanted to share a message of peace for Arab countries, especially Lebanon. The music video was filmed in Los Angeles.
Myriam gave a huge performance at the FIFA Fan Festival opening in Qatar. It included 50 dancers, 50 musicians, 400 costumes, and many technicians. In 2021, Netflix chose Myriam Fares to be the first Arab artist to have a documentary about her personal life. The documentary, Myriam Fares: The Journey, shares her experiences. It was released during the COVID-19 pandemic. Myriam wanted to show how she and her family dealt with the situation when people couldn't connect socially.
The documentary was a big success. It showed her personal life for the first time, from her pregnancy and giving birth to her music and studio work. Right after it came out, the documentary was number 1 for two weeks in the Arabic and International films categories. It also ranked high in Netflix documentaries and series, staying in the top 10 list for two months. Myriam Fares: The Journey was one of the most searched titles on Netflix in the region. Myriam ended the documentary with a music video for her new song Ghaddara Ya Dounya.
"Goumi" and Viral Dance
Myriam Fares released the song Goumi in 2018. This song encouraged girls to stand up and dance. Myriam started a dance challenge on her Instagram, and the song went viral around the world. So far, the "Goumi" challenge has over 10.2 billion views!
After the success of "Goumi" and "Tukoh Taka," Myriam got a lot of attention. She was invited for many international interviews on TV and in magazines. One important interview was with Fox 5DC. She talked about the meaning of "Tuko Takah" and how she felt about becoming an international singer.

In 2023, Myriam Fares won the "First Lebanese International Star" award at the Murex D'or Awards in Lebanon.
Myriam's Personal Life
Myriam Fares married Danny Mitri, a Lebanese-American businessman, in August 2014. They had a ceremony in Cyprus. They have two boys, born in February 2016 and October 2020. Myriam has said that she supports civil marriage and is okay with people from different religions marrying each other.
