Myriam Fares (Arabic: ميريام فارس, mīryam fāris; born on May 3, 1983) is a famous Lebanese singer, actress, and entertainer. She started her music journey in 2003 with her first song, "Ana Wel Shoq". After this song became popular, she released her first album, Myriam, in the same year. People in the Arab world call her the "Queen of The Stage" because of her amazing dance moves and live shows.
Myriam Fares also became an actress, starring in the TV series Itiham. The next year, her fifth album, Aman, became the most played album on the music app Anghami. In 2021, Myriam had her own Netflix documentary film called Myriam Fares: The Journey. This made her the first artist from the Middle East and Arab world to have a documentary on Netflix. It even reached number 1 in many countries! Her song "Goumi" from 2018 became super popular on TikTok. A dance challenge she created went viral and got over 10 billion views. In 2022, Myriam worked with famous singers Nicki Minaj and Maluma on "Tukoh Taka", an official song for the FIFA World Cup.

Myriam's Early Life and Music Start
Growing Up and First Steps
Myriam Arbal Fares was born on May 3, 1983, in Kafar Shlal, a small village in Southern Lebanon. She started learning classical ballet when she was just five years old. At age nine, she showed her talents on a TV show called Al Mawaheb Al Saghira. She even won first prize for oriental dancing from Lebanese Public Television!
When Myriam was fifteen, she joined the Lebanese National Conservatory. There, she spent four years learning how to sing oriental music. At sixteen, she won first place at the Festival of the Lebanese Song, organized by UNESCO in Lebanon. At seventeen, she appeared on the TV talent show Studio El Fann. She won the title of best singer in the South of Lebanon, Beirut, and Mount Lebanon.
First Albums and Global Tours
Soon after, Myriam signed a contract with Music Master Records. She released her first song, "Ana Wel Shog", as part of her first album, Myriam. This album was a big success. Many songs from it became popular, including "La Tes'alni", which was number one for two months. The song "Ghamarni" was especially loved in Eastern Europe. It was even translated into more than four languages, like Russian and Ukrainian! After her album came out, Myriam started touring all over the world.
In 2005, Myriam released her second album, "Nadini Myriam". It had 10 songs and was released in both Lebanese and Egyptian styles. She made three music videos for songs from this album: "Nadini", "Haklik Rahtak", and "Waheshny Eah". The video for "Haklik Rahtak" was filmed in Paris. The song "Nadini" was popular for about two months. The music video for "Waheshny Eah" had a cool racing theme, with Myriam doing stunts with a professional driver. This song was also translated into several languages, including Syriac and Turkish.
Collaborations and "Queen of the Stage" Title
Myriam has worked with many global brands. In 2007, she partnered with "Vodafone Egypt" and became the face of the company.
In 2008, Myriam released her first song in the Khaleeji dialect, called "Moukanoh Wein". It came with an exciting music video. Myriam mixed the old traditions of the Gulf Area with modern styles in her music. This new approach was very popular and showed her artistic skill. The song was a big hit in the Arab world, especially in the Gulf Area. Later, at a concert in Kuwait during the "Hala February" festival, she was given the title "Queen of the Stage". Bet'oul Eih and Silina
In 2007, Myriam released "Moukanoh Wein", which was the first song from her third album, Bet'oul Eih. The next year, she released music videos for two more songs, "Mouch Ananiya" and "Eih Elly Byehsal". The full album came out in April 2008. She spent that year promoting the album, and it became one of her most successful ones. She also released two more music videos from the album: "Ayyam El Sheety" and "Betrouh". In 2009, Myriam also starred in the movie Silina.
Global Success and Documentaries
"Goumi" and Netflix Documentary
Myriam released "Goumi" in 2018. This song encouraged girls to get up and dance! Myriam started a dance challenge on her Instagram, and the song quickly went viral around the world. The "Goumi" challenge has now been viewed over 10.2 billion times!
In 2021, Netflix chose Myriam to be the first Arab artist to have a documentary about her personal life. The film, Myriam Fares: The Journey, shares her experiences in both her private and professional life. It was released during the COVID-19 pandemic. Myriam wanted to show how she and her family dealt with the situation when people couldn't connect socially. The documentary was a huge success. It showed her personal life for the first time, from her pregnancy and giving birth to her music and studio work. Right after it came out, the documentary was number 1 for two weeks in the Arabic and International films category on Netflix. It stayed in the top 10 list for two months! Myriam ended the documentary with a music video for her new song, Ghaddara Ya Dounya.
FIFA World Cup Song: "Tukoh Taka"
In 2022, the FIFA team chose Myriam Fares to represent the Arab world for the official FIFA Fan Festival song of the Qatar World Cup. She performed the song "Tukoh Taka" with global artists Nicki Minaj and Maluma. Myriam played a big part in creating the song. She helped with the music, wrote the Arabic part, and even designed the dance moves for the music video herself!
When "Tukoh Taka" was released, it quickly became a top song in the region and around the world. The song and its music video used three different languages: English, Spanish, and Arabic. In the Arabic part, Myriam wanted to send a message of peace to Arab countries, especially Lebanon. The music video was filmed in Los Angeles. Myriam's performance at the FIFA Fan Festival opening in Qatar was amazing. It included 50 dancers, 50 musicians, 400 costumes, and 40 technicians! This performance helped Myriam become an international artist, known beyond the Arab region. The song was number 1 on "Trending For" Music for three weeks and on "Global Music Videos" for two weeks.
Myriam's Family Life
Myriam Fares married Lebanese-American businessman Danny Mitri in a ceremony in Cyprus in August 2014. They have two sons, born in February 2016 and October 2020. Myriam has shared that she supports civil marriage and is open to relationships between people of different faiths.
