Lake Nemenjiche is a beautiful freshwater lake in the southern part of Eeyou Istchee Baie-James. This area is in the Nord-du-Québec region of Quebec, Canada.
The main activity around the lake is forestry, which means managing and using forests. After forestry, recreational tourism is also popular. This includes activities like fishing, boating, or just enjoying nature.
You can get to Lake Nemenjiche by using a forest road that comes from the northeast. This road connects to Route 167. The lake usually freezes over from early November to mid-May. However, it's generally safe to walk or play on the ice from mid-November to mid-April.

How Big is Lake Nemenjiche?
Lake Nemenjiche stretches about 6.0 kilometres (3.7 mi) (around 3.7 miles) from north to south. At its widest point, it measures 2.0 kilometres (1.2 mi) (about 1.2 miles) across. The lake sits at an elevation of 394 metres (1,293 ft) (about 1,293 feet) above sea level.
Where is Lake Nemenjiche Located?
This lake is located just 0.7 kilometres (0.43 mi) (less than half a mile) west of the border between two areas: the Le Domaine-du-Roy and the Eeyou Istchee Baie-James. This border is important because it marks a watershed. A watershed is an area of land where all the water drains into a particular river, lake, or ocean. In this case, it separates the water that flows towards James Bay from the water that flows towards Lac Saint-Jean.
What Does the Lake Look Like?
Lake Nemenjiche has a long, narrow shape, running from north to south. It has about forty islands scattered across its waters. The lake gets its water from a few small, unnamed lakes to the north and five unnamed lakes to the west.
Lake Nemenjiche is the starting point, or head lake, for the Nemenjiche River. The river flows out of a bay on the west side of the lake.
