Nennigkofen was once a small town, also known as a municipality, in Switzerland. It was located in the Bucheggberg district of the canton of Solothurn.
On January 1, 2013, Nennigkofen joined with a nearby town called Lüsslingen. Together, they formed a new municipality named Lüsslingen-Nennigkofen.

A Look at Its Past
Nennigkofen is quite old! The first time it was ever written about was in the year 1392. Back then, its name was spelled a bit differently, like Nennikofen or Nennikoven.
Where is Nennigkofen?
Nennigkofen covered an area of about 4.62 square kilometers (about 1.78 square miles) in 2009. A big part of this land, around 64.3%, was used for farming. Forests covered about 24% of the area.
Buildings and roads took up about 7.8% of the land. Rivers and lakes made up about 2.8%. A very small part, 0.2%, was land that couldn't be used for anything.
Most of the forested land was dense forest. Some areas also had orchards or small groups of trees. For farming, most land was used for growing crops or as pastures for animals.
Nennigkofen is in the Bucheggberg district. It sits in the Aare valley, right next to Lüsslingen.
The Nennigkofen Coat of Arms
Every town has a special symbol called a coat of arms. Nennigkofen's coat of arms shows a golden ear of grain on a red diagonal stripe. The background is also gold. This design is called Or an Ear of the same on a Bend sinister Gules.

In 2011, Nennigkofen had a population of 484 people. About 9.1% of these people were from other countries in 2008. Over ten years, from 1999 to 2009, the number of people living there grew by about 3.9%.
