Newbiggin-on-Lune is a small village located in Cumbria, England. For a long time, it was part of a historic area called Westmorland. The village is about 4 miles (6.4 km) southwest of a town called Kirkby Stephen. It sits right on the main A685 route, which connects the towns of Brough and Tebay.
Near Newbiggin-on-Lune, you can find some interesting landmarks. To the north is the Smardale Gill Viaduct. A viaduct is like a long bridge that carries a road or railway over a valley or river. This one was once part of a railway line that is no longer used. To the south, you'll find the Howgill Fells.
