Nichelle Strong (born September 10, 1968), known as Nikki D, is an American rapper. She became well-known in the early 1990s. Nikki D is famous for her hit song "Daddy's Little Girl."
Nikki D's Music Career
Nikki D started her music journey in 1989. She signed with Def Jam, a famous record label. Her first song, "Lettin' Off Steam," came out in 1990. The music video for this song even featured Flavor Flav.
In 1991, Nikki D released a very popular song called "Daddy's Little Girl." This song was featured in the movie Just Another Girl on the I.R.T.. It became a huge hit, reaching number one on the US Billboard Hot Rap Singles chart. This chart lists the most popular rap songs.
Before her big hit, Nikki D toured Europe for a year. She performed with R&B artist Alyson Williams. Nikki D has also worked with many other famous musicians. She recorded songs with Moby and Queen Latifah. She also collaborated with Redman, EPMD, Naughty By Nature, and Suzanne Vega.
