North Baltimore is a small village located in Wood County, Ohio, United States. It is part of the larger Toledo, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 2020, the village had a population of 3,369 people. North Baltimore is also a member of the Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments.

A Look Back: North Baltimore's History
North Baltimore began as a planned community in 1874. This happened when the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad extended its railway lines to this spot. A post office also opened in the village in 1874. Just two years later, in 1876, the village officially became an incorporated town.

North Baltimore covers a total area of about 2.50 square miles (6.5 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, with a very small part being water.
Major Roads and Connections
Two important roads meet right in the village: Interstate 75 and Ohio State Route 18. Interstate 75 is a major highway that helps people travel across the state. The village is also close to Ohio State Route 25. It's about 26 miles south of the Ohio Turnpike (which includes Interstate 80 and Interstate 90).
Location and Nearby Cities
North Baltimore is located about 12 miles south of Bowling Green. It's also about 8 miles north of Findlay. The village is roughly halfway between the cities of Lima and Toledo.
The Slippery Elm Trail
A fun way to connect with Bowling Green is through the Slippery Elm Trail. This 13-mile bike path starts in North Baltimore on East Broadway Street. It goes all the way north to Sand Ridge Road in Bowling Green.
A Tale of Two Baltimores
Interestingly, North Baltimore is not next to Baltimore, Ohio. That village is in a different county, Fairfield County. The two places are actually about 140 miles apart!
