North Guardian Angel is a tall mountain peak in Zion National Park, Utah. It stands 7,395 feet (2,254 meters) high. This impressive summit is located in Washington County, in the southwest part of the United States.
About North Guardian Angel
North Guardian Angel is made of white rock called Navajo Sandstone. This type of rock is very common in the area. The peak is about 9.5 miles (15 km) north-northwest of Springdale, Utah.
Its closest neighbor is South Guardian Angel, which is about 1.44 miles (2.3 km) to the south. Between these two peaks, you can find The Subway. This is a special, narrow slot canyon with a unique shape.
The name "North Guardian Angel" became official in 1934. It was chosen by the United States Board on Geographic Names, which is a group that names places in the U.S. Water from rain and snow on the mountain flows into North Creek. This creek then joins the Virgin River.
Weather and Climate
The best times to visit North Guardian Angel are during spring and fall. The area has a Cold semi-arid climate. This means that the coldest month has an average temperature below 32 °F (0 °C). Also, more than half of the yearly rain and snow falls during spring and summer.
This desert climate gets less than 10 inches (254 mm) of rain each year. Snowfall in winter is usually light.
