Obersiggenthal is a town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It is found in the Limmat Valley in the Aargau area, which is a canton.

History of Obersiggenthal

Obersiggenthal was first written about between the years 1303 and 1308. Back then, it was known as Sikental.

Obersiggenthal covers an area of about 8.4 square kilometers (3.2 square miles). A big part of this land, about 43.5%, is covered by forests. Around 35.6% of the land is used for farming. The rest of the area, about 19.6%, has buildings and roads. A small part, 1.3%, is made up of rivers or lakes.

The town is located in the Baden district. It sits between a hill called Siggenberg and the Limmat river. Obersiggenthal includes the villages of Nussbaumen, Kirchdorf, and Rieden. It also has smaller settlements, or hamlets, named Tromsberg, Ebnet, and Hertenstein.
