A school called Obi Obi Provisional School first opened its doors on 11 November 1901. This was a basic school for children in the area. A few years later, on 1 January 1909, it became the Obi Obi State School. This meant it was officially run by the government. The school taught children for many years before it closed on 5 July 1959. It used to be located on Pencil Creek Road.

Community Gatherings at the Public Hall

The Obi Obi Public Hall was a very important place for the community. It opened in October 1913. The land for the hall was kindly given by a person named A H Goths. This hall would have been a place for meetings, celebrations, and other community events.
