Palermo covers a total area of about 43.57 square miles (112.85 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 40.56 square miles (105.05 square kilometers), is land. The rest, about 3.01 square miles (7.80 square kilometers), is water. The biggest body of water in Palermo is Sheepscot Pond.
Palermo shares its borders with several other towns. To the north, you'll find Albion and Freedom. To the east are Montville and Liberty. If you head south, you'll reach Somerville and Washington. To the west, Palermo borders China. Route 3 is a main road that runs through the town.
