Pavilion is a town located in Genesee County, New York, United States. A town in New York is a type of local government area. In 2010, about 2,495 people lived there.
The town got its name from a hotel in Saratoga Springs, New York. An early resident thought it was a good name. Pavilion is in the southeastern part of Genesee County. It is southeast of the city of Batavia.

History of Pavilion
People first started settling in the Pavilion area around 1805. The town of Pavilion was officially created in 1841. It was formed from a part of the town of Covington. Covington is now in Wyoming County. In 1842, Pavilion gained more land. This new land came from the towns of Le Roy and Stafford.
Geography and Location
The town of Pavilion covers about 35.7 square miles (92.5 square kilometers). Most of this area is land. Only a small part, about 0.1 square miles (0.28 square kilometers), is water.
The eastern border of Pavilion touches Livingston County. The southern border and part of the western border meet Wyoming County.
Waterways and Roads
Oatka Creek is a stream that flows through Pavilion. It flows north and is a branch of the Genesee River. The creek then continues into the town of Stafford.
Two main highways cross through Pavilion. US Route 20 runs from east to west. It meets NY-19, which runs north to south, at a place called Pavilion Center. US-20 also crosses NY-63 in Pavilion village. NY-63 is also known as the historic Big Tree Road.
