Phoebe Mary Waller-Bridge (born on July 14, 1985) is a talented English actress, writer, and producer. She is best known for creating, writing, and starring in the comedy series Fleabag (2016–2019). For her work on Fleabag, she won many awards, including three Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globes, and a British Academy Television Award.
She also received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for writing and producing the spy thriller series Killing Eve (2018–2022). Phoebe Waller-Bridge created and starred in the comedy series Crashing (2016). She has acted in other TV shows like The Café (2011–2013) and Broadchurch (2015). Her film roles include Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023). She also helped write the script for the James Bond film No Time to Die (2021).

Phoebe Mary Waller-Bridge was born in Hammersmith, London, on July 14, 1985. Her father, Michael Cyprian Waller-Bridge, started an electronic trading platform. Her mother, Theresa Mary, worked for the Worshipful Company of Ironmongers.
Phoebe grew up in Ealing, London. She has an older sister, Isobel Waller-Bridge, who is a composer. They have worked together on projects. She also has a younger brother named Jasper. Phoebe went to St Augustine's Priory, a Catholic school for girls. Later, she attended DLD College London. She then studied acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.
Phoebe's Career Journey

Phoebe Waller-Bridge started her acting career in theatre in 2007. She co-founded the DryWrite Theatre Company with her friend Vicky Jones. They are both artistic directors of the company. She performed in plays like Roaring Trade and Rope in 2009. She also acted in Hay Fever in 2011.
Creating Fleabag
Phoebe wrote and starred in her one-woman show called Fleabag. She first performed it in London in 2012. The full show premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2013. She continued to perform Fleabag on stage until 2019.

Star Wars and Killing Eve
In 2018, Phoebe voiced the droid L3-37 in the Star Wars film Solo: A Star Wars Story. She also wrote and produced the popular thriller TV series Killing Eve. This show, based on novels by Luke Jennings, stars Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer. Phoebe was the main writer for the first season. Her work on Killing Eve earned her Emmy nominations for writing and producing.
Recent Projects
In 2019, Phoebe was an executive producer for the HBO series Run. She also played a recurring character named Laurel in the show. In 2019, she helped write the screenplay for the 25th James Bond film, No Time to Die (2021). She was brought in to add more humor and her unique writing style to the film.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge voiced Sayan Kötör in the second season of the TV show His Dark Materials. She also directed a music video for the artist Phoebe Bridgers. In 2021, she appeared in the music video for "Treat People with Kindness" by Harry Styles.
In 2023, Phoebe starred as Helena Shaw in the adventure film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. She has also been working on adapting a horror novel called Sign Here into an Amazon series. In May 2024, it was announced that she is developing a Tomb Raider TV series for Amazon Prime.
Personal Life
Phoebe Waller-Bridge lives in the Shoreditch area of London. She was married to documentary filmmaker Conor Woodman from 2014 to 2017. Since 2017, she has been in a relationship with playwright Martin McDonagh. Phoebe avoids social media because she feels pressure to be funny and doesn't like dealing with negative comments.
