Pittsfield is a small community, also known as a "census-designated place" (CDP). It is located in Merrimack County, New Hampshire, in the United States. Pittsfield is the main village within the larger town of Pittsfield. In 2020, about 1,570 people lived in this village. The entire town of Pittsfield had a population of 4,075 people.

Pittsfield's Location and Rivers

This community is in the central-western part of the town of Pittsfield. It sits on both sides of the Suncook River. The area is bordered by the town of Chichester to the southwest. New Hampshire Route 28 runs to the northwest.

Roads and Waterways

Route 28 goes around the village center. It leads southwest about 6 miles to the Epsom traffic circle. To the northeast, it goes about 13 miles to Alton. Another road, New Hampshire Route 107, passes right through Pittsfield. It is known as Catamount Road and Carroll Street. This route leads southeast about 8 miles to Northwood Narrows. It also goes northwest about 11 miles to Gilmanton.

The Pittsfield CDP covers about 4.4 square kilometers (1.7 square miles) of land. There is no recorded water area within the CDP itself. The Suncook River flows through the middle of the community. This river is part of the larger Merrimack River system.
