Priest Lauderdale (born August 31, 1973) is a former professional basketball player. He is from the United States and also has Bulgarian citizenship. He was known for being a very tall player, standing at 7 feet 4 inches (2.24 meters) tall.

Early Life and College Basketball

Priest Lauderdale grew up in Chicago, Illinois. He went to Carver Military Academy for high school. After finishing high school, he continued his basketball journey.

He played college basketball at Central State University in Ohio. He was part of the Central State Marauders team from 1993 to 1994. He also attended another college, but he did not play basketball there.

Playing in the NBA

After college, Priest Lauderdale started his professional career. He played in the Greek Basket League in Greece. He was part of the Peristeri Athens team during the 1995–96 season. He even played in the Greek League All-Star Game that year.

In 1996, Priest Lauderdale was chosen in the 1996 NBA draft. The Atlanta Hawks picked him as the 28th player overall. He played 35 games for the Hawks during the 1996–97 season. He scored about 3.2 points and grabbed 1.2 rebounds per game. He also played in three playoff games for the team.

He later played for the Denver Nuggets in the 1997–98 season. With the Nuggets, he played 39 games. He averaged 3.7 points and 2.6 rebounds per game. After his time in the NBA, he played for other teams in different leagues. These included the Fort Wayne Fury and the Connecticut Pride.

Playing Around the World

Priest Lauderdale played for many teams outside of the United States. From 2002 to 2005, he played for PBC Lukoil Academic in the Bulgarian Basketball League. While playing in Bulgaria, he also became a citizen of Bulgaria.

He played basketball in many countries around the world. These include Venezuela, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates. He also played in China, Iraq, Lebanon, and the United Kingdom.

Life After Playing

After his long career as a player, Priest Lauderdale started coaching. He has worked as a basketball coach at youth camps. These camps help young players learn and improve their basketball skills. Some of these camps were held in Germany.
