The Province of Forlì-Cesena is a special area, like a county, in northeastern Italy. It's located in the Emilia-Romagna region and touches the Adriatic Sea. The main city, or capital, of this province is Forlì.

History of Forlì-Cesena Province
This area was first known as the Province of Forlì. It used "FO" on car plates.
In 1992, a part of the province was separated. This new part became the Province of Rimini. After this, the name of the province changed to the Province of Forlì-Cesena. The car plates also changed to "FC" in 1999.
The special code for the province, called ISO 3166-2, also became "FC" in 2010.
Geography and Location
The Province of Forlì-Cesena covers about 2,378 square kilometers. It is one of the southernmost provinces in the Emilia-Romagna region. It has a short coast along the Adriatic Sea.
The main city, Forlì, is located by the Montone river. It is about 70 kilometers southeast of Bologna. Bologna is the capital city of the Emilia-Romagna region.
The province shares its borders with several other areas:
- To the north, it borders the province of Ravenna.
- To the northwest, it borders the province of Mantua in Lombardy.
- To the west, it borders the province of Florence in Tuscany.
- To the south, it borders the province of Arezzo, also in Tuscany.
- To the southeast, it borders the Rimini province.
- To the east, it touches the Adriatic Sea.

There are two important natural areas in the province:
- The Parco naturale del fiume Savio is a natural park along the Savio river.
- The Parco nazionale delle Foreste Casentinesi, Monte Falterona e Campigna is a national park. It is located in the northern Apennines mountains.
Population and Cities
About 394,067 people lived in the province in January 2017. This means there were about 166 people for every square kilometer.
The province has 30 smaller towns and cities, called comuni. The two largest cities are Forlì and Cesena.
