Puzz 3D is a cool type of jigsaw puzzle that lets you build amazing 3D models! Instead of flat pictures, these puzzles create standing structures. They are made by a company called Hasbro. Before Hasbro, another company called Wrebbit, Inc. used to make them.
Unlike regular puzzles that make a flat picture, Puzz 3D pieces are made of plastic foam. Each piece has a part of a picture printed on it. When you put the pieces together, they form a real-life model you can display!
Building Awesome 3D Puzzles
Puzz 3D has created many different kinds of puzzles. Most of them are famous landmarks from around the world. Imagine building the White House, Big Ben in London, or the tall CN Tower! You can even build the beautiful Neuschwanstein Castle from Germany.
They also made puzzles based on exciting stories and movies. You could build the Millennium Falcon spaceship from Star Wars. Or maybe you'd prefer King Arthur's legendary Castle at Camelot. Puzz 3D also made puzzles of buildings from different time periods, like a fancy Victorian Mansion.
It's not just buildings either! You could put together classic cars, like a 1956 Ford Thunderbird. There was even a special puzzle based on the game Monopoly. You could build the puzzle, and then play the game on it!
One of their biggest puzzles was a New York City model. It included famous places like the World Trade Center and the Empire State Building. This puzzle showed New York City before the September 11 attacks, so the Twin Towers were part of the model. It was Hasbro's largest puzzle, with 3141 pieces!
Playing Puzz 3D on Computers
Puzz 3D also created fun computer games for Microsoft Windows and Macintosh computers. In these games, you could build a digital version of a real Puzz 3D model. You would click and drag pieces to put the puzzle together on your screen.
Once you finished building the puzzle, a mystery would begin! You had to solve a fictional puzzle or secret that took place inside the landmark you just built. Four main games were released for computers:
- Puzz 3D: Neuschwanstein Bavarian Castle
- Puzz 3D: Notre Dame Cathedral
- Puzz 3D: The Orient Express
- Puzz 3D: Victorian Mansion
There was also a fifth game called The Lamplight Manor. After you completed that puzzle, you could take a cool 3D tour inside the manor!
