Raury Deshawn Tullis (born June 10, 1996) is an American singer, songwriter, and rapper. He is known for his unique music style. His songs mix different types of music like soul, hip hop, and folk.

Raury was born and grew up in Stone Mountain, Georgia. He was the first artist to sign with the record label Love Renaissance in 2012. In August 2014, he released his first mixtape, Indigo Child. Early life

Raury Deshawn Tullis was born on June 10, 1996, in Stone Mountain, Georgia. When he was 14, Raury decided he wanted to make music his life. By age 15, he started recording and producing songs in his friend's basement. He wrote many songs and put together projects, but he was too shy to share them.

Early on, his music was often sad and told stories. He used music to express himself. In high school, Raury played guitar in a band that covered other artists' songs. In 2014, the year he finished high school, Raury held a music festival called Raurfest for his 18th birthday. He then released his mixtape Indigo Child for free, which helped him become popular.

On August 25, 2014, Raury released his first mixtape, Indigo Child. That same year, he announced he had signed a deal with Columbia Records. In 2014, the BBC listed him as one of the artists to watch for their "Sound of 2015" list.

Also in 2014, New Zealand singer Lorde asked Raury to sing on her song "Lost Souls." This song was part of the soundtrack for the movie The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. In January 2015, he was ranked number 4 on the BBC's Sound of 2015 list. In 2015, Raury was featured on the cover of XXL magazine.

On October 16, 2015, Raury released his first studio album, All We Need. One of his songs, "Crystal Express," was featured in the video game FIFA 16. Another song, "Devils Whisper," was used in a trailer for the TV show Coronation Street. In 2016, Raury went on tour with the rapper Macklemore. On September 15, 2016, Raury released a single called "Butterfly."

His song "God's Whisper" has been used in several movies, including American Honey, Lucy, and Collide. It also appeared in the Netflix series Dark. The song "Devil's Whisper" was featured in the movie Logan. In November 2017, Raury was featured on Jaden Smith's album Syre on the song "Falcon."

By 2018, Raury was no longer with Columbia Records. He explained that he wanted more freedom with his music. On February 17, 2018, Raury released his song "Odyssey" on SoundCloud. On April 20, 2018, he released a project called The Woods for free.

In 2019, Raury released an album he produced himself called Fervent under his own company, "Into the Woods." He continued to release music independently, including Strawberry Moon in June 2022, Strawberry Moon Eclipsed in July 2023, Transcendence in March 2024, and Southern Mystic in June 2024.
