Raury Deshawn Tullis (born June 10, 1996) is an American singer, songwriter, and rapper. He is known for his unique music style, which blends soul, hip hop, and folk sounds. Raury was born and grew up in Stone Mountain, Georgia. In 2012, he became the very first artist to sign with the record label Love Renaissance, which is based in Georgia.
In August 2014, Raury released his first mixtape, called Indigo Child. It was very popular and led him to sign a deal with Columbia Records. His first studio album, All We Need, came out in 2015. After leaving Columbia Records in 2018, he released three more albums on his own. Raury was also a member of the C5 Georgia Youth Foundation, an organization that helps young people.

Early Life and Music Beginnings
Raury Deshawn Tullis was born on June 10, 1996, in Stone Mountain, Georgia. When he was 14 years old, Raury decided that he wanted to spend his life making music. By age 15, he started recording and producing his own songs in a friend's basement.
At first, Raury wrote many songs and put together projects, but he was too shy to share them. He was inspired by artists like 2Pac. His early music often shared strong feelings and told stories, as he used music to express himself. In high school, Raury played guitar in a cover band.
In 2014, the year he graduated, Raury organized a music festival called Raurfest to celebrate his 18th birthday. After that, he released his mixtape Indigo Child as a free download, which helped him become well-known.

On August 25, 2014, Raury released his first mixtape, Indigo Child. That same year, he announced that he had signed a deal with Columbia Records. In 2014, he was also chosen for the BBC's "Sound of 2015" list, which highlights promising new artists.
Famous New Zealand singer Lorde asked Raury to sing on her song "Lost Souls" in 2014. This song was part of the soundtrack for the movie The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. In January 2015, Raury was ranked number 4 on the BBC's "Sound of 2015" list. Later in 2015, he was featured on the cover of XXL magazine as part of their "Freshman Class," which showcases rising hip hop artists.
On October 16, 2015, Raury released his first studio album, All We Need. Some of his songs from this album became very popular. For example, "Crystal Express" was featured in the video game FIFA 16. Another song, "Devils Whisper," was used in a trailer for the TV show Coronation Street.
In 2016, Raury went on tour, opening for the rapper Macklemore. On September 15, 2016, he released a single called "Butterfly." His song "God's Whisper" has been used in several movies, including American Honey, Lucy, Collide, and the Netflix series Dark. The song "Devil's Whisper" also appeared in the movie Logan.
On November 17, 2017, Raury was featured on Jaden Smith's album Syre, on the song "Falcon." By 2018, Raury was no longer working with Columbia Records. He released a new single called "Odyssey" on his SoundCloud on February 17, 2018.
On April 20, 2018, Raury released a project called The Woods for free. In 2019, he released an album called Fervent through his own record company, "Into the Woods." He continued to release music under his own company, including Strawberry Moon on June 14, 2022.
