Redange (Luxembourgish: Réiden) is a special area in the west of Luxembourg called a canton. It's like a county or district. The main town, or capital, of this canton is also called Redange. Sometimes, it's known as Redange-sur-Attert.
Redange canton was officially created on 24 February 1843. It is home to about 18,351 people as of 2017.

How Redange Canton Changed Over Time
On January 1, 1979, some smaller towns, called communes, joined together. The communes of Arsdorf, Bigonville, Folschette, and Perlé became one new commune called Rambrouch. This change meant that the Redange canton went from having 13 communes to 10.
