The city is found at the northern edge of Lewis County. It is right next to the border of Nez Perce County. Reubens itself is on a flat piece of land. However, just a little over a mile to the east and west, there are deep valleys.

To the west of Reubens, you'll find Lapwai Creek. This creek has carved a very deep gorge, more than 300 meters (1,000 feet) deep! U.S. Route 95, a major highway, runs through this gorge.

To the east, there is another valley created by Big Canyon Creek. This valley is also quite deep, reaching nearly 300 meters (1,000 feet) in depth close to Reubens.
