Richmond County is a county located in the U.S. state of Virginia. It is found on the Northern Neck, a peninsula in eastern Virginia. In 2020, about 8,923 people lived here.
The main town, or county seat, is Warsaw. It is important not to confuse Richmond County with Richmond, Virginia, which is a much larger city and the capital of Virginia. Richmond County was created in 1692. It was formed when the original Rappahannock County was split into two new counties: Richmond County and Essex County.

Geography of Richmond County
Richmond County covers a total area of about 216 square miles (559 square kilometers). Most of this area, 191 square miles (495 square kilometers), is land. The remaining 25 square miles (65 square kilometers) is water, which is about 11.5% of the total area.

Education in Richmond County
Richmond County Public Schools manages the public schools in the county. There are two main school campuses. About 1,300 students attend these schools. Richmond County Elementary / Middle School teaches students from kindergarten to 7th grade. Rappahannock High School serves students in grades 8 through 12. As of 2022, the leader of the school system, called the Superintendent, is Bernard S. "Trey" Davis III.

These are smaller areas that are not officially organized as towns or cities.
One interesting place is Germans Corner. It is about 1.5 miles north of Naylors Beach. It is located where Virginia State Route 636 and Virginia State Route 624 meet. The area was named after Wilber L. Jerman. He built a large house there in 1923. He lived there until 1946. Over time, "Jerman's Corner" became known as "German's Corner."

- Annie R. Blount (1839–unknown), a writer and newspaper editor. She wrote poems and short stories.
