Robert Kent (born October 6, 1980) is an American professional football quarterback. He played college football for the Jackson State Tigers. Robert Kent has been a member of many different football teams throughout his career. He also worked as a head coach for the Duke City Gladiators for part of the 2021 season.

Early Life and High School Football
Robert Kent grew up in Indianola, Mississippi. He played high school football for the Gentry High School Rams. In his senior year, he was named All-State. He threw for an amazing 2,883 yards and 30 touchdowns. Besides football, he was also good at other sports. He played track, basketball, and tennis.
College Football Career
Kent was the starting quarterback for the Jackson State Tigers for four years. He played in 45 games during his college career. He completed 825 passes out of 1,539 attempts. This resulted in 11,797 passing yards and 104 touchdowns. He also threw 58 interceptions. On average, he gained 262.16 yards per game. His total passing yards, 11,797, ranked fourth in NCAA Division I-AA history at the time. In 2002, Kent was a finalist for the Conerly Trophy. He also played in the very last Blue–Gray Football Classic in 2003.
Professional Football Journey
After college, Robert Kent was considered the 18th best quarterback in the 2004 NFL draft.

Playing for the Tennessee Titans
Robert Kent signed with the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League (NFL) on April 26, 2004. He joined them after not being chosen in the 2004 NFL Draft. However, the Titans released him on August 29, 2004.
Time with the Montreal Alouettes
In January 2005, Kent signed with the Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was released by the team on June 17, 2005.
Playing for the Steeldogs
Kent played for the Birmingham/Alabama Steeldogs in the af2 league from 2006 to 2007. In 2007, he played three games for the Steeldogs. He completed 44 passes for 462 yards and five touchdowns. He also ran for 65 yards and scored three rushing touchdowns.
First Time with the Lubbock Renegades
In April 2007, Kent was traded to the Lubbock Renegades. He completed 240 passes out of 427 attempts. This led to 3,535 yards, 81 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. He also ran for 11 touchdowns and 174 yards.
Short Stint with Toronto Argonauts
Kent signed with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL) on August 6, 2007. He was released by the Argonauts on August 30, 2007.
Second Time with the Lubbock Renegades
Kent returned to play for the Lubbock Renegades in the 2008 af2 season. He helped the team reach the playoffs for the first time. He completed 274 passes for 4,100 yards, 86 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions. He was also the team's second-best rusher, with 189 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz
Kent signed with the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz in October 2008. He played for them during the 2009 af2 season.
Abilene Ruff Riders
In April 2010, Kent signed with the Abilene Ruff Riders of the Indoor Football League.
Houston Stallions Success
Kent played for the Houston Stallions from 2011 to 2012. He had a great record as a starter for the Stallions, winning 19 games and losing only 1.
First Time with Corpus Christi Fury
In February 2013, Kent signed with the Corpus Christi Fury of the Ultimate Indoor Football League. He helped the Fury reach the championship game in their very first season. He also led the Ultimate Indoor Football League in passing yards and led the Fury in rushing yards during the 2013 season.
San Antonio Talons
Kent signed with the San Antonio Talons on July 25, 2013. He started one game for the Talons during the 2013 season.
Second Time with Corpus Christi Fury
Kent rejoined the Fury and played for the team during the 2014 UIFL season.
St. Louis Attack
Kent also played for the St. Louis Attack in X-League Indoor Football during the 2014 season. The Attack had a perfect regular season but lost in X-Bowl I.
First Time with Texas Revolution
Kent signed with the Texas Revolution of Champions Indoor Football (CIF) in 2014. He played for them in the CIF's first season in 2015. He was named the 2016 CIF MVP (Most Valuable Player) and Offensive Player of the Year. He was released on March 23, 2017.
Dallas Marshals
On March 23, 2017, Kent signed with the Dallas Marshals of Champions Indoor Football (CIF).
Monterrey Steel
On June 3, 2017, Kent signed with the Monterrey Steel of the National Arena League (NAL).
Massachusetts Pirates
On April 19, 2018, Kent signed with the Massachusetts Pirates of the National Arena League (NAL).

Kent later signed with the Richmond Roughriders of the American Arena League (AAL) in 2018.

Outside of football, Robert Kent worked as a stunt double for actor Dwayne Johnson. He performed stunts in the movie The Game Plan.
