Robert Thomas Woods (born April 10, 1992) is an amazing American football player. He is a wide receiver for the Houston Texans in the National Football League (NFL). Before joining the Texans, he played for the Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, and Tennessee Titans. He played college football for the USC Trojans, where he was recognized as an All-American in 2011. He was chosen by the Buffalo Bills in the 2013 NFL Draft. Robert Woods is also a Super Bowl champion!

Robert Woods' Early Life and High School
Robert Woods was born in Gardena, California on April 10, 1992. He went to Killian Elementary and Alvarado Intermediate schools. Later, he attended Junípero Serra High School in Gardena. There, he played high school football and ran track. His teammates included future NFL players George Farmer and Marqise Lee.
High School Football Star
In 2008, during his junior year, Woods caught 81 passes for 1,378 yards. He also scored 19 touchdowns. On defense, he made 87 tackles and had seven interceptions.
In his senior year (2009), Woods caught 66 passes for 1,112 yards. His team, the Serra Cavaliers, had an amazing season. They won the CIF Northwestern Division Championship. Then, they beat Marin Catholic High School 24–20 to win the CIF Division 3 state championship. They finished the season undefeated with a 15–0 record! USA Today ranked them fifth in the West. After this great season, Woods was named a USA Today high school All-American. He also played in the 2010 U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
Track and Field Achievements
Woods was also a fantastic sprinter. In 2010, USA Today named him an All-USA high school track & field athlete. He ran the 200 meter dash in 21.04 seconds and the 400 meter dash in 46.17 seconds. His 400-meter time was the 11th fastest in the world for juniors that year! He graduated from high school in 2010.
Robert Woods' College Football Career
Woods played college football for the USC Trojans from 2010 to 2012. He played under head coach Lane Kiffin.
Freshman Year (2010)
Woods made an immediate impact as a freshman. In his very first college game, he caught four passes for 46 yards. He scored his first college touchdown on a 97-yard kickoff return against Minnesota. Later, he caught his first receiving touchdown from quarterback Matt Barkley. His best game was against Stanford, where he had 12 catches for 224 yards and three touchdowns. He finished his freshman year with 65 catches for 792 yards and six touchdowns. He also led the Pac-10 conference in kickoff returns.
Sophomore Year (2011)
Woods had an incredible sophomore season. He started strong with 17 catches for 177 yards and three touchdowns against Minnesota. Against Arizona, he had a stellar game with 14 catches for 255 yards and two touchdowns. He also had big games against Notre Dame, Colorado, Oregon, and UCLA.
Overall, he finished his sophomore season with 111 catches for 1,292 yards and 15 touchdowns. He led the Pac-12 in catches and receiving touchdowns. Because of his amazing season, Woods was a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award and Maxwell Award. He was also named a Consensus All-American, which means he was recognized as one of the best college football players in the country.
Junior Year (2012)
Woods continued to play well in his junior season. He started with two touchdowns against Hawaii. His most impressive game was against Colorado, where he caught eight passes for 132 yards and four touchdowns! After his junior season, Woods decided to enter the NFL Draft.

Buffalo Bills (2013–2016)
The Buffalo Bills picked Robert Woods in the second round of the 2013 NFL draft. He was the 41st player chosen overall.
Rookie Season (2013)
Woods made his NFL debut as a starter against the New England Patriots. He caught his first NFL touchdown pass in that game. He finished his rookie year with 40 catches for 587 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games.
Second Season (2014)
Woods continued as a starting wide receiver for the Bills. In one game against the New York Jets, he caught a season-high nine passes for 118 yards and a touchdown. He ended his second season with 65 catches for 699 yards and five touchdowns.
Later Seasons with Bills (2015–2016)
In 2015, Woods had 47 catches for 552 yards and three touchdowns. He missed some games due to a groin injury. In 2016, he caught 51 passes for 613 yards and one touchdown. He missed a few games due to foot and knee injuries.
Los Angeles Rams (2017–2021)
On March 9, 2017, Woods signed a five-year contract with the Los Angeles Rams. He became a top receiver for the team.
First Season with Rams (2017)
Woods had a great first season with the Rams. In Week 8, he caught two touchdowns against the New York Giants. The next week, he had eight catches for a season-high 171 yards and two more touchdowns against the Houston Texans. He even set a Rams record with a 94-yard touchdown catch! He finished the season with 56 catches for a career-high 781 yards and five touchdowns. The Rams won their division and made the playoffs. In his first NFL playoff game, Woods caught nine passes for 142 yards.
Super Bowl Appearance (2018)
Woods continued to be a key player for the Rams in 2018. He had several games with over 100 receiving yards and multiple touchdowns. He reached 1,000 receiving yards for the first time in his career! He finished the season with 86 catches for 1,219 yards and six touchdowns.
The Rams had a fantastic season and made it all the way to Super Bowl LIII. Woods had five catches for 70 yards in the Super Bowl, but the Rams lost a very close game to the New England Patriots. His fellow players ranked him among the top 100 players in the NFL for 2019.
Later Seasons with Rams (2019–2021)
In 2019, Woods had another strong season with 90 catches for 1,134 yards and two touchdowns.

In 2020, he again had 90 catches for 936 yards and six touchdowns. He also ran the ball well, adding 155 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. The Rams made the playoffs, and Woods scored a touchdown in their Wild Card Round win against the Seattle Seahawks.
Super Bowl Champion (2021)
In 2021, Woods was having a good season with 45 catches and 556 yards in nine games. However, on November 12, 2021, he tore his ACL during practice, which ended his season early. Even without Woods, the Rams went on to win Super Bowl LVI against the Cincinnati Bengals! This means Robert Woods is a Super Bowl champion!
Tennessee Titans (2022)
On March 19, 2022, Woods was traded to the Tennessee Titans. He finished the season as the Titans' leading receiver with 53 catches for 527 yards and two touchdowns. The Titans released him in February 2023.
Houston Texans (2023–Present)
On March 14, 2023, Woods signed a two-year contract with the Houston Texans. In the 2023 season, he played in 14 games and had 40 catches for 426 yards and one touchdown. In the 2024 season, he had 20 catches for 203 yards.

Robert Woods' Personal Life
Robert Woods' father, also named Robert Woods, played in the NFL for the Houston Oilers and Detroit Lions.
Robert Woods had a sister named Olivia who passed away from cancer in 2007. Her last words to him inspired him to chase his dreams of playing in the NFL and finishing his college degree. He honored her in his graduation speech at USC.
On July 7, 2018, Robert Woods married his longtime partner, Alexandra Barbee.
