Rondell Bernard White was born on February 23, 1972. He is a former American professional baseball player. He played in Major League Baseball as an outfielder and a designated hitter. Rondell was known for being a great defensive player. He also hit really well, with a batting average of .300 or more for four years in a row!

Rondell White's Early Life
Rondell White went to Jones County High School in Gray, Georgia. He graduated in 1990. While there, he played both baseball and basketball. He was named the Player of the Year in 1990 by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He was also chosen for the USA Today and Collegiate Baseball All-America teams that same year.
Starting His Professional Baseball Career
The Montreal Expos picked Rondell White in the first round of the 1990 Major League Baseball draft. He was the 24th player chosen overall. Before playing in the major leagues, White spent four years in the Expos' minor league system.
In 1993, he played for the Ottawa Lynx. He had a very impressive .380 batting average in 42 games. Because he played so well, he was moved up to the Montreal Expos. He made his first appearance in a major league game on September 1, 1993. He was 21 years old.
Amazing Moments in Baseball
On June 11, 1995, Rondell White had one of the best games of his career. He hit for the cycle against the San Francisco Giants. This means he hit a single, a double, a triple, and a home run all in the same game! He also got 6 hits in 7 tries during a thirteen-inning game. He was the fourth player in Expos history to hit for the cycle.
In 1997, White hit a career-high 28 home runs for the Expos. He was also a top defensive player. He led all National League center fielders with 379 putouts. He also helped turn 3 double plays.
Playing for Different Teams
On July 31, 2000, the Expos traded Rondell White to the Chicago Cubs. He played two seasons for the Cubs. After that, he signed a two-year deal with the New York Yankees in December 2001.
In March 2003, he was traded from the Yankees to the San Diego Padres. That year, he was chosen to be a reserve player for the National League team in the 2003 All-Star Game. Later that year, in August 2003, he was traded again to the Kansas City Royals. He finished the 2003 season with a career-high 87 runs batted in between the two teams.
After the 2003 season, he became a free agent. He then signed with the Detroit Tigers. He played two seasons with the Tigers. In December 2005, he signed with the Minnesota Twins. Rondell White played his final major league game on September 30, 2007, when he was 35 years old.
