City Landmarks
Rosebud is famous for its "Rosebud Christmas tree." This is a very tall artificial tree, about 170 feet high. It is located at 128 W. Main St. An electric company called Bell Falls Milam Electric Co-op put up the tree in the early 1960s.
Later, another company bought them out. In 2013, a new company, M6 Oilfield Rentals and Mfg, LLC, bought the property. The owner, Kenny Ray Murray, said that the Christmas tree is a special symbol for Rosebud. He promised it would stay there for a long time.
Geography and Climate
Rosebud is in the southwestern part of Falls County, Texas. A main road, U.S. Route 77, goes right through the middle of the city. This road is also called 5th Street.
If you go north on U.S. Route 77, you will reach Waco in about 36 miles. If you go south, you will get to Cameron in about 15 miles. Another road, Texas State Highway 53, goes west for about 24 miles to Temple. It meets U.S. Route 77 just north of Rosebud.
The city covers a total area of about 2.0 square kilometers (0.8 square miles). All of this area is land.
