Rúben Dias (born on 14 May 1997) is a professional footballer from Portugal. He plays as a centre-back for the English club Manchester City. Rúben also plays for the Portugal national team.
He is known for his strong playing style and leadership on the field. Many people consider him one of the best defenders in the world.
Dias started his career in the youth academy of Benfica. He joined Benfica B in 2015. In 2017, he moved up to the main team. He was named the best young player in the Primeira Liga for the 2017–18 season.
The next season, Dias helped Benfica win the league title. He also won the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira in 2019. He played over 100 games for Benfica.

Starting at Benfica
Dias began his football journey at a local club called Estrela da Amadora. A family member helped him join the club. He first played as a striker but later became a defender during a match.
