Carlos St. John Phillips (born August 26, 1986) is a Guyanese-American rapper and singer. He is known by his stage name, Saint Jhn (pronounced "Saint John").
He became very famous for the 2019 remix of his 2016 song "Roses". This remix was made by Kazakh DJ Imanbek. It became a huge hit, reaching the top 5 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song also topped the music charts in many countries like Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Ireland, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. "Roses" was the main song from Saint Jhn's third album, While the World Was Burning, which came out on November 20, 2020. Before that, he released his first album, Collection One (2018), and his second, Ghetto Lenny's Love Songs (2019). These were released through L.A. Reid's record label, Hitco.
Saint Jhn has also written songs for many other artists. Some of these artists include Kanye West, Jidenna, Usher, Hoodie Allen, and Kiesza. He is also one of the people who started the music group called Gødd Complexx.

Early Life and Music Start
Carlos Phillips was born in Brooklyn, New York City. He spent his childhood growing up in Georgetown, Guyana. He would live in Guyana for three years, then in the East New York area of Brooklyn for three years, and so on.
He started making music when he was just twelve years old. His older brother, who used to rap with friends in their neighborhood, inspired him. Saint Jhn wrote his very first song when he was in his first year of high school while still living in Guyana.
Music Career Highlights
Before he started using the name Saint Jhn, he performed and wrote music under his birth name, Carlos St. John. In 2010, he released an EP (a short album) called The St. John Portfolio. He also released a mixtape called In Association under his birth name.
Soon after, a music executive named Zach Katz flew him to Los Angeles, California. For two months, he worked on writing songs for the famous singer Rihanna. However, none of his songs were chosen for her. After returning home, Saint Jhn helped write the song "No Interruption" for Hoodie Allen. In the years that followed, Saint Jhn wrote songs for artists like Kiesza, Gorgon City, and Nico & Vinz.
In 2016, he received credit for writing two songs for Usher: "Crash" and "Rivals". Both of these songs appeared on Usher's album Hard II Love. Also in 2016, he released his first song as Saint Jhn, which was called "1999". He then released two more songs that year: "Roses" and "Reflex". In October 2016, it was announced that Saint Jhn would open for Post Malone at some concerts on the West Coast.
In February 2017, Jidenna's album, The Chief, came out. It included the song "Helicopters / Beware," which Saint Jhn helped write. The next month, Saint Jhn released another new song called "3 Below." In October of that year, he performed at two big music festivals: Rolling Loud and the Voodoo Experience. He also released another new song, "Hermes Freestyle."
In February 2018, Saint Jhn released "I Heard You Got Too Litt Last Night." In early March, he released "Albino Blue." Then, on March 30, 2018, his first album, Collection One, was released. By that time, the songs from the album that had already been released had been streamed over 50 million times. Besides working on music and touring for Collection One, Saint Jhn also worked as a model for Gucci's "Guilty" campaign with Adesuwa Aighewi.
In April 2020, Saint Jhn's song "Roses" reached number one on the ARIA Charts in Australia and the UK Singles Chart in the UK. This happened because of the popular Imanbek remix. The song later got two more remixes, one with Future and another with J Balvin.
In October 2020, Saint Jhn performed live at the 2020 Billboard Music Awards. This was after the big success of "Roses." On October 23, 2020, he released the music video for his song "Gorgeous." This song was the first single from his third album, While the World Was Burning. On October 26, he showed the album's cover, the list of songs, and announced that it would be released on November 20, 2020. The album includes songs with other famous artists, such as "High School Reunion, Prom" with Lil Uzi Vert, "Monica Lewinsky, Election Year" with DaBaby and A Boogie wit da Hoodie, and "Pray 4 Me" with Kanye West.
In December 2022, Saint Jhn and London on Da Track released "Stadiums." This was the first song from an album they plan to release together.
