Early Life and Musical Beginnings
London was born in Memphis, Tennessee, but he grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. His love for music started at a young age. He learned how to play the piano and keyboards by playing music at his church.
After finishing high school, London went to Full Sail University in Florida to study music, but he left before graduating to focus on his career.
Career
Starting Out as a Producer
When he was 16, London started rapping with a group called Dem Guyz. The group would buy beats online to rap over. To save money, London decided to use his piano skills to make his own beats for the group. He used online software to get better at making music.
He started to get noticed in his local area when he produced beats for a group called the Rich Kidz. At the beginning of his career, London gave his beats away for free. This helped him build relationships with artists and get his name out there. The first song he produced that was played on the radio was "Pieon" by Rich Kidz. This success encouraged him to keep producing.
Major Success in Music
In 2011, London worked with Young Thug for the first time on the song "Curtains." This was the start of many successful projects together. Because of his work with Young Thug, London signed a deal with Cash Money Records in 2014 to be one of their main producers. That same year, he produced the song "Hookah" by Tyga, which became his first song to appear on the Billboard Hot 100, a chart that lists the most popular songs in the U.S.
His career quickly took off. In August 2014, three songs he produced were on the Billboard Hot 100 at the same time: "Lifestyle" by Rich Gang, "About the Money" by T.I., and "Hookah" by Tyga. Many people in the music industry began to notice his talent. The head of his record label, Bryan "Birdman" Williams, called him "the best producer in the business."
Working with Top Artists
London continued to work with some of the biggest names in music. In 2020, he co-wrote and produced Ariana Grande's song "Positions". The song was a massive hit, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It also topped music charts all around the world, becoming one of his most successful productions ever.
He has also appeared on television. In 2018, he was on the show Black Ink Crew: Chicago. A year later, he was a production advisor on the Netflix competition show Rhythm + Flow, where he helped new artists.
Personal Life
London has four children. He has a daughter with the singer Summer Walker, who was born in 2021. He also has another daughter and two sons from earlier relationships.
