Coco Jones, born Courtney Michaela Ann Jones on January 4, 1998, is a talented American singer and actress. She was born in Columbia, South Carolina, and grew up in Lebanon, Tennessee. From a young age, Coco loved to perform and started auditioning for roles.
She first appeared on Radio Disney's Next Big Thing (2010–11). This helped her get roles in Disney shows and movies. She starred in the film Let It Shine (2012). She also appeared on the TV show Good Luck Charlie from 2012 to 2013.
Around this time, Coco also started her music career. She released her first music collection, an extended play (EP), in 2010. In 2022, she signed with Def Jam Recordings. Her song "ICU" became very popular that year. It even made it onto the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song later won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance. Coco was also nominated for Best New Artist at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards.
In 2022, she got a main role in the TV show Bel-Air. This show is a new version of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Coco has also won a BET Award and an NAACP Image Award.

Early Life and Beginnings
Coco Jones was born on January 4, 1998, in Columbia, South Carolina. Her dad, Mike Jones, used to play in the NFL. Her mom, Javonda Jones, is a singer. Coco grew up in Lebanon, Tennessee. Her brother, Mike Jones Jr., plays football for the Atlanta Falcons. She also has two younger siblings, Aja and Steven.
Coco loved performing from a very young age. She sang "America the Beautiful" at her kindergarten graduation. When she was nine, she met with casting directors from Disney. Soon after, she started working as an actor and songwriter for the company. In 2006, she competed on Radio Disney. She became known for her song "Real You" during this time.

2006–2013: Disney and Early Music
In 2009, Coco was chosen to perform live on the Maury Povich Show. The episode was called "The Most Talented Kids." In 2011, she was a guest star on the Disney Channel show So Random!. In 2010, Coco was the runner-up in season 3 of the Radio Disney's The Next Big Thing singing contest.
After that, she released her first music project, an EP called Coco Jones. She also started a concert tour called UBU-Stop the Bullying. This tour focused on helping kids deal with bullying.
In June 2012, Coco played the main character, Roxie, in the Disney movie Let It Shine. This movie was very popular. It was the most-watched Disney Channel Original Movie that year for kids and tweens. Coco and the other main actors from Let It Shine performed at the NAACP Image Awards. This happened before the movie was even released.
Coco signed a music deal with Hollywood Records. She started working with producer Rob Galbraith. She helped write and record new original songs. Her first song, "Holla at the DJ," was played on Radio Disney in December 2012. The music video for the song came out a few days later. Her EP called Made Of was released in March 2013. It reached the top 10 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. She also toured with the group Mindless Behavior that year. Coco performed with them at the Radio Disney Music Awards. 2014–2022: Independent Music and Acting Roles
In January 2014, Coco left Hollywood Records. She continued to make music on her own. In August 2014, she released a video for her song "Peppermint." The song was available on digital music platforms a month later.
Coco appeared in a Fanta commercial in July 2017. In April 2018, she was in a jazz film called Flock of Four. In September of that year, she released a song called "Just My Luck" with its music video.
On September 3, 2019, Coco released a song called "Depressed." Later that month, she released an 8-song EP titled H.D.W.Y..
In August 2020, it was announced that Coco would be in two new films. These were the holiday film White Elephant and the horror film Vampires vs. The Bronx.
In September 2020, Coco shared some of her experiences in the entertainment industry. She talked about how she faced challenges after Let It Shine. She explained that some people thought she was not "marketable enough."
Coco released the single "Hollyweird" in November 2020. In September 2021, Coco was cast in the Peacock TV show Bel-Air. She plays the role of Hilary Banks. The show started in February 2022.
2022–Present: Def Jam and New Success
On March 20, 2022, Coco Jones announced she signed a new music deal. She joined High Standardz and Def Jam Recordings. Her first song with the new label was "Caliber." It came out on March 25, 2022. This song was also the first single for her EP What I Didn't Tell You. After releasing another single, "ICU," the EP came out on November 4, 2022.
A month before her EP, Coco was featured on Babyface's album Girls Night Out. She sang on the song "Simple." A music video for the song was released soon after.
On January 20, 2023, Coco released a deluxe version of her EP. It included "Simple" and three new songs. Coco's song "ICU" became very successful. It reached number 21 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart. It later peaked at number 63 on the Billboard Hot 100. On January 30, 2024, Coco signed a publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music. She released "Love is War" on all streaming platforms on February 10. Four days later, she released a Spotify-exclusive cover of "Until the End of Time" with Leon Thomas.
On April 6, 2024, Coco sang the National Anthem at WrestleMania XL. This big event took place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On August 9, 2024, Coco worked with Disney again. She released a new version of Princess Tiana’s song "Almost There." On August 16, 2024, Coco released her single "Sweep it up." It came with a visualizer and lyric video. On November 22, 2024, Coco released her sixth extended play, Coco By The Fireplace.
