Saludos Amigos is a fun movie from 1942 made by Walt Disney Productions. Its name means "Hello, Friends" in Spanish. This film takes you on an animated journey through Latin America.
It was the sixth animated movie made by Disney. The film is quite short, only 43 minutes long, making it the shortest Disney feature ever. It was also the first Disney animated movie to be shown in South America before it came out in the United States.
Saludos Amigos is made up of four different cartoon stories. Famous Disney characters like Donald Duck and Goofy star in some of these stories. The movie also introduces a brand-new character, José Carioca, a friendly parrot from Brazil. Because it was so popular, Disney made a sequel called The Three Caballeros two years later.
The movie first came out in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on August 24, 1942. It then arrived in the United States on February 6, 1943.
