Sarn was a small town, also called a municipality, located in the Swiss area of Graubünden. It was part of the Hinterrhein district.
On January 1, 2010, Sarn joined with three other nearby towns: Portein, Präz, and Tartar. All these towns became part of a larger town called Cazis. This means Sarn is no longer a separate municipality.

History of Sarn
Sarn is a very old place. The first time anyone wrote about Sarn was in the year 1156. It was simply called Sarn back then. This shows that people have lived in this area for a very long time.
Geography and Location
Sarn covers an area of about 7.6 square kilometers (about 2.9 square miles). A big part of this land, almost 79%, is used for farming. About 15% of the land is covered by forests.
The town itself, with its buildings and roads, takes up a small part, about 3%. The rest of the land, about 2.8%, is made up of natural features like rivers or mountains. Sarn is located on the Heinzenberg mountains. It was a haufendorf, which means it was a village built in an unplanned way. Its buildings were close together around a central area.
People and Population
In 2007, Sarn had a population of 142 people. A small number of these people, about 8.5%, were from other countries. Over the ten years before 2007, the number of people living in Sarn went down by about 15.5%.
In the year 2000, there were slightly more boys and men (51.4%) than girls and women (48.6%) in Sarn.
