Early Life and Education

Sasha Compère was born in Detroit, Michigan. Her parents came from Haiti. She started acting in high school plays. Later, she studied theater and film at The University of Michigan. At the same time, she earned a degree in Business Administration.

In 2009, Sasha joined The Flea Theatre in New York. She performed in their underground theater shows. After that, she moved to Los Angeles to work in TV and film.

Acting Career

Sasha Compère's big break came when she played Laura Greene in the first season of the TBS comedy show Miracle Workers. Before this role, Sasha worked many different jobs. She was an executive assistant, a copywriter, and a waitress. She also managed buildings and worked as a project manager for marketing at the Oprah Winfrey Network. She has said that getting the role on Miracle Workers "changed my life."

Sasha also wrote and directed a short film for the internet. This helped her join the Screen Actors Guild, which is a union for actors.

Sasha had a recurring role on the HBO show Love Life. This show starred Anna Kendrick. She also appeared in the Netflix film Uncorked. In this movie, she starred alongside Mamoudou Athie. In February 2024, Sasha was a guest star in the fourth season of National Geographic's show Genius (American TV series). This season was nominated for seven NAACP Image Awards. Sasha played Juanita Abernathy, an American civil rights activist. Juanita was the wife of Ralph Abernathy. She was also a fellow organizer of the Montgomery Bus Boycott and a close friend of Coretta Scott King and Martin Luther King.

Sasha also co-stars in an independent film called "Dreams in Nightmares". This movie was written and directed by Shatara Michelle Ford.
