Journey of Sawmill Brook
Sawmill Brook begins its journey at a specific point, which is its official source. This spot is located at 40°26′35″N 74°23′58″W / 40.44306°N 74.39944°W. From there, the brook flows through an area with many businesses and factories, located between Harts Lane and Route 18.
Where the Brook Flows
After passing through the business area, Sawmill Brook crosses Harts Lane. It then continues its path through Tices Lane Park, a local park where people can enjoy nature. As it flows, another smaller stream joins Sawmill Brook from the south, adding more water to it. The brook then crosses Tices Lane.
Reaching Westons Mill Pond
The brook's journey continues as it crosses under the New Jersey Turnpike, a major highway, and then Ryders Lane. Finally, Sawmill Brook flows into Westons Mill Pond. This pond is actually a part of Lawrence Brook that has been dammed, meaning a wall was built to hold back the water and create a pond. The brook joins the pond at 40°27′34″N 74°25′53″W / 40.45944°N 74.43139°W.
Easy to Visit
Sawmill Brook flows through areas where many people live. This makes it quite easy for people to get close to the brook and see it.
Other Streams in the Area

- Great Ditch
- Ireland Brook
- Oakeys Brook
- Sucker Brook
