Seaford is a lively coastal suburb located in Adelaide, South Australia. It's part of the City of Onkaparinga, which is like its local government area. Seaford is well-known because it's the very last stop on the Seaford railway line, which connects it directly to Adelaide railway station.

This suburb is a popular spot for surfing because it's easy to get to from Adelaide. You can simply hop on the train! Seaford has a big shopping centre right between the train station and the beach. This centre is the main place for shops and businesses in the area.

Seaford is a great place for families. It has schools, medical clinics, bakeries, and places for sports and community events. There are also many parks and playgrounds. All these things make it a friendly neighbourhood where you can walk to most places.

Over time, more and more people have moved to Seaford. This has helped the Seaford Boardriders club grow. This surfing club has won many awards. Older, experienced surfers in the club share their knowledge with younger, new surfers.

History of Seaford

Seaford is a suburb right by the coast, just south of Port Noarlunga. It was first planned out in 1954 by a company called Wakefield Land Company Pty Ltd. This area, near the Onkaparinga River, was first settled by farmers in the early 1800s.

In the 1800s, Seaford was home to the Southern Race Course. Horse racing was a very important part of social life back then. People also enjoyed other sports like hunting and ploughing competitions.

In the middle of the 1900s, many new homes and buildings were built here. This happened as more people moved south from Adelaide. Also, tourism to the beautiful beaches along the coast became very popular.

The Seaford Post Office opened its doors on 9 June 1992. It took over from the post office in the nearby town of Moana.
